I wonder if their will be a follow up article on this? It gets in the paper and their are never any follow up , to let us know how things are progressing. I would like to see all the board members listed and also what Bullock has to say about this. We heard from the mayor and how he feels, lets here from the others.

Question on fireman. Did not the airport get slot of money for a big fire truck as a government grant. Like 200k. Why has it been parked at the city? Is not the airport manning this with personel? The are still flying planes right. What happens when there is a fire? I would think if the government gives you money I am sure part of the deal should be to use it for it's purpose.

stupidpeople wrote: <quoted text> i don't see it that way, i see it as the mayor bullying someone that is speaking his mind. Mayor is not right in this, how can the taxpayers pay a individual money to work on others airplanes? This is not right , how can it be? He is not going to work on airplanes for free is he? No of course not, he is going to charge and pocket the money in a building that taxpayers have paid for also we are paying 8 grand towrad his insurance bill. How in the world do you think the mayor is right? Cause he said Tuttle was soliciting a lawsuit? Where is the proof on that. People are stupid if they believe anything that comes out of Girdlers mouth, also does Girdler speak for Barty Bullock now? Is Bullock such a weak man he can't speak for himself? I totally disagree with your comment that Barty can't speak for himself NOW. He's never had either the backbone or intelligence to speak for himself. It's nothing new.

I am sorry your right, he has never had any guts to stand up for himself , i have never seen such a weak man in office in all my life, how does someone like that get elected? Is it because he sings in a christian group? Him and Girdler both will go down in history as the worse judge and mayor Pulaski and Somerset has ever had.

This is a letter I emailed to the publisher and editors of the Commonwealth Journal as well as the FAA:
To whom it may concern or interest: This e-mail is in response to the Commonwealth Journal newspaper articles about the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport Dated 05/28/12. I have grown up at the airport since a child. My Father retired from being an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor at the Technical School located at the airport which is now a part of the college. I am also an Aircraft Mechanic and have been for the past 15 years. My heart is with this airport and have been honored to make many friends and acquaintances over the years. I have seen many FBOs come and go and I have had the pleasure of working for one of them while I was attending Aircraft Maintenance School for which I am very grateful. The FBO was MSI Aviation which has employed more people, mainly students, than any other FBO at the Somerset Airport. With this being said, I am very disgusted with the situation the airport is undergoing. The airport use to be a thriving place where everyone could meet and socialize. There was always alot of aircraft on the ramp, coming and going, buying fuel, maintenance, flight training or simply the people here to visit. The problem at hand has been an ongoing problem that started in the early 90's, not starting with the economy or anything else someone wants to blame it on. Although the economy has had its great effect on aviation, their is always individuals that can afford it or do without other things for the love of aviation. The problem started solely on the Airport Board, the past Airport Manager, the Mayor and the County Judge Executive. The exact reason why the airport does not have any business or an FBO is because every FBO in the past with its customers have been "ran off" by the board and the Manager by their mistreatment. The local individuals started to take their aircraft to Wayne County Airport for maintenance and started buying fuel somewhere else instead of Somerset. This is the sole reason for the Airport Board to vote in favor for the owner of Wayne County Aviation to operate in Somerset. The Airport Board could care less about "fair Market value". If you look at the Airport Board Members (current and Previous) most if not all members were/are local buisness owners that can benefit from the airport buying their products and/or services or affiliated with the two major figures in somerset, the Blakleys and Corrells. For Instance(s). The owner of Modern Security was on the Airport Board. The security system installed at the Airport is Modern Security. Is this "fair market value"? Airport vehicles were bought from Blakley. Did I mention his Pilot was on the Airport Board? As a taxpayer and aviation professional and local citizen I despise seeing the products bought by the airport have any affiliation with anyone of the members so the said member can make a profit from airport money/tax dollars. The Airport Board has left a bad taste in many peoples mouths and it will be hard if not impossible to get their buisness back. Mr. Walter Iverson the owner of MSI Aviation has always been considered an outcast by the Airport Board and from reading the article in the newspaper a person can really see the mistreatment that the Airport Board gives FBO's and its customers. It is my firm opinion in order to regain a prosperous thriving airport again, the FAA needs to step in and "clean house" of the Airport Boards wrong doing.

I agree with airport mechanic. I think this is why we need financial disclosures in all area's of government. This current government is very bad about all of this. The Mayor is King.
