Former presidential contender keeps 2008 options open

WASHINGTON John Kerry says it's too early to start thinking about 2008. Since losing to President Bush in 2004, the Massachusetts Senator has jetted across the country, raising millions of dollars for fellow ...

I cannot stand to look at John Kerry, let alone listen to him. If damaged goods is the best Democrats have to offer, they have lost again.

I have to disagree with you.
First of all - I could look at John Kerry all day, I think Teresa is a very lucky woman.
Second of all, John Kerry would be an excellent President, not only for this country, but for the world, and to clean up the mess that this administration has made.
Third of all - Damaged goods? Were you referring to Cheney? DeLay? Frist? Santorum? Surely you weren't referring to Senator Kerry!

Hi Pirhana! Fancy meeting you here! I couldn't agree with you more. Damaged goods? I'd say "experienced" is more like it. Good grief people are so high and mighty aren't they?

I still love John Kerry. John Kerry is my president. John Kerry is a true leader. John Kerry is a true hero. John Kerry has our back. What more can I say? Hmmm. Kerry 2008, perhaps?

That is so sad... Is this still the best the Dems have to offer? I had a friend that once told me that in a high-school election that someone entered a potted-plant in the race -- and the plant won. I think the democrats might have better luck along these lines in 2008.

That's what happened in the race last year: a potted plant WAS elected. Senator Kerry is absolutely the best our country has to offer. His actions in 2005 have proven that he's the best of the best. His new PAC, Keeping America's Promise www.keepingamericaspromise.com has been raising money for key campaigns across the country and Senator Kerry has been working 24-7 to make sure we take back Congress this year. He's been the hardest working Senator and has keep his promise of watching our back. He's never stopped fighting the unjust policies of this administration and he's been at the forefront of all the important issues. Anyone who bothers to actually look into the issues will realize that John Kerry is the hardest working Senator we have and that he is absolutely the most qualified candidate to be President of the United States should he decide to run in 2008.

I love John Kerry. He's still in there fighting for us. I've followed him in the Senate and read all of the speeches he's given over the past year. He doesn't get the respect he deserves from the media, which is sad. Most of the country has no idea just how hard he's been working and fighting since November '04. Senator Kerry is my hero and I'd love to see him run again.

There simply isn't anyone more qualified or more correct on the issues. In the 2005 Senate Votes, John Kerry voted with his party 97% if the time, a higher percentage than any other Democrat. Kerry is the hardest working Senator in the bunch and in 2005 he also did a lot of organizing and fundraising for Democrats at the grassroots level with his PAC, Keeping America's Promise. I am in total agreement with you: the media didn't give him adequate coverage during the campaign and they have virtually ignored all the work he has done since 2004. It is sad that the "Dean Scream" got more air play than everything John Kerry said about the environment during the presidential campaign.

I'd love to see him run again and I'm not alone. In 2004, people didn't really know John Kerry. They swallowed the media spin like a baited hook. But people are getting to know what the man is all about and his support is growing. There are so many of us out here feeling the frustration of not being able to get the message out, but the tide is turning. People can only be muzzled for so long. We are all pretty tired of being manipulated and controlled by the greedy and the corrupt. We know John Kerry and we respect and love the man. He will never quit on us. He'll always be there no matter what. All he needs to do is ask and we will unite behind him. There are so many of us out here just waiting for the word.

"Damaged Goods"? I don't know what you are getting at by using these words. If you refer to the smears that were unjustly flung John Kerry's way, well, they just won't work any longer and have been proven to be false.
You other comments allude to having to look at him- this to, I do not understand since I enjoy looking at him and I love to hear him speak. This said, there are other more important reasons to actually vote for someone other than their appearance, although Kerry appearance and dress is always neat and he is always well groomed. A person's knowledge, dedication to his country, honesty and vision for our future should be things you take into consideration. I would suggest that you get past your physical aversion to Kerry and see the whole man. You might actually be suprised to learn what a wonderful leader he would be.

Are you actually comparing John Kerry to a potted plant? Well, than I would say he has room to grow in your estimation. Please do not discredit John Kerry. What you may have learned of him from the media last election, was all distorted. Senator Kerry has what it takes to become one of our most important leaders in modern times. He would be a great President. I would suggest you seek out information about the man on your own and not allow the media to continue to influence your opinion of him. I have seen many presidential elections come and go and John Kerry is the only candidate I have ever felt deserved a second chance.A President elected for such a great country such as ours should not be chosen through sound bites alone.

No, no specifically Kerry, but pretty much any candidate that runs for office. We have a broken primary system that promotes people like Bush, Bush Sr., Clinton, Gore, Kerry, et al as the best their parties have to offer. But your response was cogent, and if Kerry runs again in the next election, I promise to investigate more thoroughly his background, position on issues, and future vision before I, once again, decide to vote against him.

I absolutely adore Senator Kerry. He was my choice way before the NH primary and the only thing I agree with you on is that the primary system needs work. We almost didn't have John Kerry as a candidate. Sometimes the best candidates do not get to rise to the top of our political system. The only reason Senator Kerry was successful was because he had a lot of grassroots support from ordinary people and because he worked his butt off. The Democratic Party never really wanted Kerry and they don't want him to run again in 2008.

That aside, there are a few problems with your position. First, you admit you voted against Kerry, meaning that you voted for B. You lose credibility on this if nothing else. And secondly, I detect a note of predetermination in your statement. There is nothing open-minded about considering a candidate's positions if you already have decided to vote against him or her.

What a strange thing for a Bush voter to say.

In any case, John Kerry is thoroughly vetted and there simply isn't anything else your people can do to libel and slander him should he run again. Is this what frightens you so much that you still feel you have to campaign against him? Guess it must be, because there isn't a Republican out there who has as clean a slate. In fact, they all have quite a bit of mud and baggage. If Senator Kerry does run and if he does get the nomination, Republicans will have a hard time beating him. Why? Because this time they will have to run on the issues instead of relying on smear and fear. And frankly, if they try to do that, they are dead in the water against Kerry.

Read more carefully. I didn't say I voted for Bush. This is one of the many things that's wrong with both Democrats and Republicans. You're all so self-righteous and trigger-happy to respond to what you assume the "other side" is saying, that you aren't open to introspection. If you could only hear yourselves...

In any event, my point was that GW is a moron, and if the Dems can't field someone that can beat him, that makes your party only more pathetic.

You are right. John Kerry has been thoroughly vetted. As for that individual who voted against Kerry but says he didn't vote for Bush: he must be feeling real proud of himself now that he's help elect the worst President ever. He should have been voting against Bush, so I have no sympathy.

Did you see the recent comments on Senator Kerry's post? He's almost at 1000 replies now...and people are thrilled to see him blogging personally. Yes, you told me he was a pretty cool guy, but wow! Just wow! Thanks for tipping me off to this. I just love John Kerry. Thanks for all the interesting links you provided me. I'm such a happy and proud new Kerrycrat. There is a name for me now and I love it: Kerrycrat. Has a ring.

DD, I love what they are doing on the Kerry board with the $20.08 donations to JK! I sent one to Senator Kerry and one to KAP.

This has been a fantastic day! I love John Kerry! Did I tell you that?

Senator Kerry posted twice on a popular blog. E-mail me for the URL. Use the e-mail at the Kerry Frappr map. Don't want to give the Freepers any specific information.

His entries were fantastic and the response was overwhelmingly positive. There were a few of the usual black hats, but they were drowned out by all the gushing and fauning. I include myself as one of the gushers and fauners. How often does a Senator blog? And this is one very, special Senator. He even replied to some of the replies to his second post.

I won't give away any more. Go read for yourself. It's good stuff. I hope he keeps it up!

I love John Kerry too! He was on television today giving an interview to George Stephanopolous and he was wonderful. He was so in control. John Kerry is my hero and I'd love to see him run again in 2008.

HERE'S a TRUE JOHN KERRY STORY FROM CAPE COD RECENTLY. JUST ASK HIM HE MAY EVEN REMEMBER. It was a wonderful HOT sunny day at the local creame stand. There was a long line of us waiting to get a cone. Up pulls a huge black limmo. Out from the back comes your Hero; John Kerry with Lovveee in the back seat. He says something to her, she yelled back. He turned, and in all our amazement he walked right past everyone right to the head of the line. He ordered two cones. When asked by a cape cod tourist, "who he thought he was cutting in like that Kerry replied; "dont you know who I am, well I'm; John Kerry." Apparently Lovveeeey didnt want to wait a long time for her sudae, and HE didnt want to stand around in the heat either.

Yeah he's special alright dear.........and selfish, and a liar. Maybe he can run for governor of Laos ! They LOVE him there. They even have a photo of him up on a wall there along with several other great communist party leaders. Im sure your a good kid, but you think like a child. Go watch more reruns of; Friends and stick with what you know.
W'oh buddy, I think you need to cut back on the medication, you're getting a bit dilusional.
