Medicare may decide this election ?

Judged: 1 1 1 Besides that, a President cannot do this. A President has no power over medicare. That would be in the Senate that is Democratic and will stay Democratic. No worries. Romney is now set to lose and it is far too close to the election for him to win. Election is all but over other than the conventions and ball drop for Obama victory and the dumb phone call Romney will have to make as a three time loser on the 4th. |

It's not a Romney Ryan plan. Ryan is not running for President and what he says is not important and neither is what Biden says.
Romney made the worst choice for VP he could have made. Ryan is a popular as Danny, the one who cost Bush Sr and election. |

It will be no medicare, it is a lie that something will be.
Ron Paul is the only solution. He is good, great politician and he would be great US president. |

Judged: 1 1 1 I'm not thrilled with Ryan either, but Romney could have made some worse choices: e.g. Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rob Portman. James Danforth Quayle had foot-in-mouth syndrome (almost as bad as the current VP), but to blame Bush's defeat on him is silly. First of all, Bush won with Quayle in '88. Second, many factors contributed to the Bush defeat in '92, including the Perot candidacy, economic conditions, failure to finish the job in Iraq, Baker's hostility to Israel, 12 years of GOP control of the White House, etc. Granted, quayle probably didn't help much, if any, but Clinton beat Bush by 5% and to blame that on Quayle makes no sense. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Obama may be toast, but Romney may end up as burnt toast. Governor Romney has critized President Obama's handling of the economy, as well he should, but he still has not done a good job of articulating what he will do about the economy except that he will extend the Bush tax cuts. And now we know, with the choice of Congressman Ryan, that he will probably opt for some variation of a Medicare voucher plan. Wonderful, but as important as tax cuts and Medicare are, there's a lot more to the presidency than that Romney has not present himslef very well except as being a competent manager and as a Dubya 2.0. 50-something points is not something that many voters will be able to grasp. Yes, the economy is lousy and maybe disgruntledness with Obama will be enough to eleect Romney/Ryan, but I think that it is foolish to count upon that. OTOH, Romney has never asked for my advice.:-) |

Judged: 1 1 There are "three big lies" in the GOP's and Ryan's lie of the Medicare spin. The first is the claim that the $716 billion - the Congressional Budget Office's latest estimate for the next 10 years' savings as a result of the Affordable Care Act - is somehow being raided from care for senior citizens. The second big lie - central to Ryan's Thursday speech - is that the $716 billion cut from Medicare's growth curve is "funding Obamacare. And the third big lie is that Obama is a threat to Medicare. Ryan and Romney cuts Medicare more than Obamacare does. Ryan's cuts come from shifting the cost of Medicare onto seniors elevating their individual premiums by more than $500.00 a month or over $6500.00 a year, plus an expansion in the Medicare Part D prescription plan by expanding the infamous Donut Hole. The Affordable Care Act cuts future spending for Medicare - by slowing planned increases in payments to providers such as hospitals and nursing homes. The providers agreed to the cuts for a simple reason: They expect to get the money back, because the law also promises to cover tens of millions of formerly uninsured people - ensuring that they'll get more paying patients and fewer cases of uncompensated care. Most responsible Citizens see the issue as part of a broader problem of escalating health-care costs - not just in Medicare and Medicaid, but in the private market, as well. Ryan, Romney and most of today's conservatives want to apply their usual prescription for everything: the magic of the market, even though it has largely failed to control costs in medicine's private sector. There's absolutely no evidence that theory works for something as essential as health care, where consumers see their well-being and lives at stake. For instance, the Medicare Advantage Plan only had 4 to 5 Million subscribers of the 46 Million on Medicare. It's fair to suggest that a scheduled payment over 10 years of $716 Billion for covering those 4 to 5 Million seniors on Medicare and Medicare Prescription Part D payments was exploiting the Federal Government, but after all the Bush Administration allowed the Health Care Insurance Lobbist to write those legislations, all to their benefit. |

Point taken regardng Medicare Part D. Also, you're right that conservatives have abdicated responsibility for a sane healthcare policy when they have been in power. But the Social Security "trust" is a lock box full of pocket lint and IOUs. For years, the government has used it to make the budget deficit look smaller. That's how the Clinton-Gingrich "balanced budget" was made possible.(To be fair, however, Clinton and Gingrich did do a much better job with the budget than either Bush or Obama have.) Congressman Ryan has a long history in Congress of being a big government yes-man when Republicans are in power (e.g. TARP, auto bailouts, NCLC, Medicare Part D, ethanol, etc.), but this hardly justifies President Obama's policy of letting Medicare and Social Security head down the path towards insolvency. |

Judged: 1 1 1 $25 billion. Fewer than half of all voters recognize that the government lost money on these bailouts. Upon learning that the government lost money, just 29% consider them a success. Fifty- nine percent (59%) consider the auto bailouts a failure. All you have to do is read three books about Obama.'The Amaterur' by Edward Kline. "The great Destroyer" and Crimes aginst liberty' by David Limbaugh and if you still for for Barack Hussein Obama you ought to have your heaad examined. PS About Rachel Maddow's book. I found it to be on of the most poorly written book sthat I've read in my life. There were no notes in Maddow's book explained where she got her information from. Maddow said that the Cuban missile crisis was in 1963.(It was in late Oct 1962) and that the metal wingtips of our nuclear missiles had fungus growing on them. Only rabid, foaming at the mouth liberals would believe such crap. MSNBC is nothing but a bunch of lying, hatemongering name calling fools who are drinking the Obama Kool-aid. The lies Obama told are posted above in another post. No need to repeat them. You can Google up Obama gaffes. Really funny. Like the United States has 57 states and Obama cannot pronounce the word 'corpsman' even though he is Commander in Chief. THE OBAMA LIES “I promise that I support traditional marriage-1 man-1 woman. “I promise 100% transparency in my administration.”. “I promise NO NEW TAXES on a family making less than $250K a year.”. “I will allow 5 days of public comment before I sign any bills.”. “I will remove earmarks from PORK projects before I sign any bill.”. “I will end Income Tax for seniors making less than $50K a year.”. “I will bring ALL of our troops home within ONE year.” “I’ll put the Health Care negotiations on CSPAN so everyone can see who is at the table!”. “I’ll have no lobbyists in my administration.” “I’ll close Guantanamo.” “I’ll resign if I don’t cut the deficit in half by the end of four years.” “I’ll unite the people of this great country.” |

The federal government has been "borrowing" from social security for decades without any hope of paying it back. I understand that and apparently so does Ryan. It's too bad Kos and mediamatters fails to educate its readers better. As for Medicare, the right wingers at NPR felt there were some nasty problems with the Obama plan. You might want to check it out. http://www.npr.org/2012/08/16/158915032/weekl... |

Good point, but the government has no business bailing out failed businesses -- whether or not the money is paid back. In free enterprise, businesses sometimes fail, and when businesses fail people sometimes lose their jobs and the money that they invested. Trying to have capitalism without risks is like trying to have a sport without anyone losing. This is especially true when the bailouts are funded with increased budget deficits. If a failing business is worth rescuing then let venture capitalists put private funds at risk. |

Venture capitalists TAKE public loans and leave behind debt WE pay.... Clearly clueless and either a bottle baby or a hypocrite.... http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-N3VfK7h/0/...

Ruthlessness should be fought with Truthfulness.
So far, Romney not shown he is capable of truthfulness. LIES in CPAC speech – http://www.amycontrada.com/Rom … LIED IN LAST DEBATE – ARIZONA – http://www.therightscoop.com/r … ROMNEY SEVEN DOCUMENTED LIES ON AIR – CNN Jacksonville, FL in front of 5.36 million of viewers. 1. He denied accusing Newt of exaggerating/lying about his part in Reagan’s administration only three days before on Monday night in Tampa. 2. He lied about accusing Newt of saying Spanish was a ‘ghetto language’ in an ad that bore his voice. 3. He claimed all his business was run by a blind trust, a tactic that Mitt himself called ‘the oldest ruse in the book’ in a previous campaign. 4. He said he voted for republicans in the past when there was a republican to vote for, but if you look back at the Gingrich ad exposing his lies, it turns out when George H.w. Bush and Buchanan were running, he voted for a liberal democrat. 5. He denied the cost of Romneycare to taxpayers in Massachusetts.“Half of those people got insurance on their own. Others got help in buying the insurance.” False. In fact, 98% of the additional people insured after Romneycare was passed have it paid for or subsidized by the federal government or Massachusetts government. Of the 412,000 additional people who had health insurance in 2010 who did not have it in June 2006 (pre-reform), only 7K of the 412K (1.7%) had unsubsidized health insurance. The rest were covered through Medicaid, Commonwealth Care, or a program of subsidized care for the unemployed. 6. He denied the impact of Romney care on citizens of Massachusetts. Romneycare has increased the price of healthcare premiums for every citizen of Massachusetts. Premiums have increased by 55 percent since Mitt Romney became Governor, a rate 13 points higher than the national average and the third highest growth rate among the states. 7. He said he lowered taxes in Massachusetts 19 times. Yet he raised fees and corporate taxes twice. No wonder Massachusetts was rated near the bottom (47-49th) in job and business growth. PROJECTION – Psychological defense, typical of liberal left – symptom of psychological dishonesty and denial – accusing others of one’s own behavior/character flaws |
