Obama's Budget: "No Chance" of Making it Through Congress?

Full story: www.politico.com

Topix Staff Story

Americans can look forward to another government stand-off after Obama's budget is released later today. "Like the 2012 budget, it has no chance of being adopted by Congress," writes The Washington Post's Ezra Klein.

GOP-ers will be incensed by the budget, most of all because it breaks Obama's promise to halve the deficit.

Republican Paul Ryan has fired the first shot in this battle, telling POLITICO that

We face a totally predictable debt crisis, and this is the fourth year in a row that the president has ducked it. I honestly thought he would triangulate after the 2010 elections, but he’s moved left.

WaPo's Klein defends the broken deficit promise, arguing that "fulfilling that promise" would have been "a dumb thing to do."

What's your take - are Republicans just trying to score political points, or has Obama really "moved left"? And would deeper cuts really be "a dumb thing to do"?

Hairlip Reid has already stated that he has no plans to push a budget through the Senate this year. He and the Dictator-In-Chief will try to blame that fact on Republicans.

rethugs have been very clear that their only purpose is to defeat obama even if it hurts the country! From the very beginning of obama's administration they have tried to block any and all efforts to improve the economy and health care system. The fact that they are going to block the budget is just more political posturing and should come as no surprise.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The President could adopt every single Republican proposal and policy and the Republicans would still block it; just because of who the President is.

Paul Ryan, like most Republicans, is ignorant and dishonest. The President has not "ducked" anything, but been forced to beg, plead, and twist arms to try to get some sort of short-term spending agreements, and deficit-ceiling increases, through the idiotic, Teabag-obsessed Congress.

Republicans refuse to permit the passage of a budget and create crises around spending and deficit-reduction agreements, then blame Obama for 'not being able to pass a budget.' Their hypocrisy is as obvious as their partisan need for issues to use in an election year, which is all this is.

The good thing is, as more people see more of this behavior, Republicans will have "no chance" of retaining the House, taking the Senate, or occupying the White House. And those are GOOD things.:)

We, as America loving citizens, must face these 2 facts:
1) Republicans actions seem to be the actions of the ignorant;

2) Democrats (especially Obama) seems undoubtedly to have the actions of under-the-table, behind-the-back devious criminals out to dismantle America.

Proud Americans must unite to "INFORM & ENLIGHTEN" lost REPUBLICANS and "DESTROY" the evil currently residing within the DEMOCRAT PARTY.

You're ignorant if you think that spending can just be passed by one party even when it doesn't have control of one chamber of Congress.

Obama budget slated for $3.8 trillion

The White House rolled out its new $3.8 trillion budget Monday, promising major investments to spur a manufacturing revival in the U.S. while walking a fine line between the August debt accords and President Barack Obama’s fear that too much austerity now will spell trouble for the economy—and his own reelection chances in November.

You do know that the Democrats controlled both the House and Senate until 2010, right? And that no Dem controlled congress has balance a budget in 40 years. So it was Democrats who stopped Obama's progress.

But hey, be stoopid and keep the party lie going.

Obama knew it wouldn't make it through Congress because he completely ignores reality and is consumed with the egomanical desire to DIVIDE us all into mere fractions of Americans.

With Obama is always better to Sound like Vlad Lenin than to actually DO ANY GOOD for the Country. It's a Progressive Thing.

LOL. From the very beginning? In the very beginning, Oblunder had a democrat majority in both houses; GOP couldn't block anything even if they tried. If they were able to, Healthscam would never have passed, and unemployment would not be as bad as it is now.

Besides, it's Harry Reid that refuses to even consider a budget. Nice try to spin it though.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
