This cannot be worked out. I resent that this fight is about women's birth control. The catholic church hid pediphiles and not want to control female contraceptives? And this from men who have no relationship with women, yet they want to preach birth control. Why don't they preach male control too. Also, this mandate already exists in several states. It seems like anything concerning a woman's womb, men want to control. Even those men who don't sleep with women. And please don't pretend they are using the bible. If they want to preach abstinence until married, then men should be held responsible too. It's a man's world, and these men show women no love whatsover.

I resent that you see fit to co-opt this issue as being about birth control.

Is there some birth control shortage that isn't being reported? I've never met anyone who wanted to get BC

This issue is about the First Amendment protection provided in the Constitution that the BC mandate clearly violates.

Misposted-

Never met anyone who wanted BC who didn't get it.

"Access" is a red herring. PP hands it out like candy.

Get serious.

The issue is not about who can have birth control.

Don't worry obama will cave on this issue just like he has caved on most issues. He really need to grow a pair and till the papists to shove their claptrap! As agriculture secretary earl butz once said about the catholic position on birth control 'You no playa da game you no maka da rules."

He could grow a pair as church bells and he'd still have to cave.

If an individual Catholic businees owner files suit on this, the whole thing's going to be repealed in 5 minutes.

Boy's Town Abuse!
Jan 5, 2011 ... I took it so seriously at the time that I went to Rome and met with Cardinal Ratzinger.... Ratzinger is now in the limelight over this issue, but he couldn't get ... At least certain elements of Boys Town were being improperly used.

This is not about a woman's right to B C. Birth Control is available at 1,000s of places without involving the Catholic Hospitals, and clinics. It is about a violation of the 1st amendment rights of freedom of religion. Both Biden, and Bill Daley tried to tell the stupid President that this would cost him, and Democrats in the November election, but he is not a Christian, nor does he believe in the Constitution, so he did as he pleased, and stepped in it. Now he cannot get it off his shoes. I can't say I am not enjoying the whole thing. Several Democrat Senators, and Congressmen are irate, and want Obama to back off. If he does he looks weak, if he doesn't the Democrats lose big time in November.

I heard the same RE: Biden and Daley.

I guess Sebeleius sold him on the idea with some women's rights angle, and he bought it.

If he's just given the exemptions, he could have slid it by. Now, I think it stands a good chance of being repealed altogether.

Good luck to Democratic candidates in Catholic towns. You'll need it.

This is nothing more than BO's hatred for Christians and the liberal Catholics who pander to him. If and when the Catholic church stops fleecing the people who support this corrupt liberal institution and focus on this Marxist regime they may be able to pull out of the nose dive.

I resent that you're a man trying to tell me, a woman, how I should view birth control being mandated by men. First of all, I don't see this as a First Amendment issue. Churches accept certain tax breaks from the gov't, and I see many living high on the hog. If I want to control birth in my circumstances, and I can't rely on a man, you're telling me I need not turn to the church for help? This many explain why many of us turn away from the church.

You seem to have no issue with BC being mandated by men now as long as they give it to you for free on the backs of people's religious convictions.

Can you tell me when it started that receiving government money nullified your constitutional rights?

I missed that in civics class.

This is not about birth control. Women have many places to get birth control free. This is a violation of Religious Liberty, and another disregard by Obama for the Constitution. Sunday there will be another letter read in every Catholic Church, and likely every Sunday until the election. No, they cannot politic in Church. They can inform their parishioners about religious liberty. This is not a Muslim Country, and we will not allow it to become one. Nice try though.

Correct there.

Obama's lost them (no matter what he does today) and good luck being a Dem running for office in Catholic areas.

They'll get hammered.

Why do you assume I get it free on the back of people's religious convictions? The church says no sex outside of marriage, yet I'm sure 99% posting here have broken that law. So don't give me your hyposcrisy. The institutions we are referring to are in public areas. Yet they can't serve the public if it's a benefit that goes against their beliefs? All sorts of hypocrisy going on here. Also, churches accept a special tax break from the government. Maybe they should separate from that too, since its from a secular organization.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
