(Here's My Platform) After a careful review of the options for the up-coming election: (a) A man who can't account for his money and wants 'change you can believe in'--(but never says what the change is). If BO can be run for pres, anyone can..yes we can! I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE. HERE IS MY PLATFORM: (1) Press 1 for English is immediately banned. English is the official language. Speak it or wait at the border until you can. (2) We will immediately go into a two-year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports no exports. We will use the 'Wal-Mart policy:'If we ain't got it you don't need it.' (3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it. (4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border.(Six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens. (5) Social Security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin' in you ain't getting' nuttin' out. Neither the president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it. (6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade. (7) Professional Athletes --Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you will be banned for life. (8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method: The first time you steal you lose your right hand. New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae By STEPHEN LABATON Published: September 11, 2003 The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago. Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry. The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios. The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. ''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee.''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''
