A free press is supposed to be the backbone of Americas Democracy but newspapers like the Sun make a mockery out of those who originally believed in the freedom of the press.

They have become mouthpieces for those candidates that the editorial boards like best, and so they have become utterly untrustworthy to deliver unbiased news.

We read about history, when the term "yellow journalism" came to be, with blatantly biased newspapers--as though that's something in HISTORY. But it's true of NOW, TOO. It's not just a historical curiosity.

Did you see Saturday's Palm Beach Post? The political cartoon by that offensive HACK Don Wright was just a cartoon drawing of Earth (the AFRICA side, mind you, not showing the U.S. AT ALL), and a smiley-face superimposed over it; the Earth was used as the "O" in the word "Obama".

So, it was implying that the Earth is happiest with Obama. Clearly implying that an Obama presidency will be beneficial to the Earth. How nauseatingly fawning can you get?!

I grew up in an America in the 1950s and into the 1960s where newspapers were conservative culturally and Republican if not right-wing. Today the newspapers are anti-establishment, left-wing and Democratic, as well as tv, which has also changed. There is also the ethnic, and I say, ethnic, NOT RACE issue, because the simple White, Brown, Black, Yellow divide or the Christian-Jewish-Moslem-Hindu- Buddist, etc. divide doesn't describe the situation well either. I would like to say CLASS, but that isn't it either. The North-South divide and the "Haves and Have Nots" also does not describe things either.

So tell me say, it's between people who ON A GIVEN ISSUE NOT EVERY ISSUE, either want things to stay the same, want things to change, and those, probably 60% to 70% who aren't sure.

HOWEVER, if only to SELL PAPERS, GET VIEWERS, the MEDIA HAS TO (except for Fox and Murdock interests which play their own self-interested game and change sides as it suits them) BE "FOR CHANGE" and therefore "naturally" ends up with situations like all three national network anchors going to Europe and Asia with the Democratic, Black, son of an African who never became an American and died as a Moslem, and never on any of his trips with the White, conservative, English-speaking and descended Republican candidate. And you must remember in Europe and Asia there are huge numbers of Moslems, not White,English-speaking and decended Protestants who will buy the "replays" from the three networks of their coverage of Obama. That will not happen with McCain. So there is a business reason to cover Obama and no business reason outside the US to cover McCain.

I am leaning to McCain. But that doesn't mean I don't fail to understand the market and why Obama gets more coverage. The Sun-Sentinel is no where are biased as the Miami Herald, that seems to hate Jews, loves everything Black or Arab or Moslem, and sounds more and more like a Nazi publication.

The media and the DNC have forced obama down our throats. The Sentinal seem to be another eager tool of the rich and powerful. The DNC and Obama were able to disenfranchise voters in Florida and Michigan and the media still loves him. The DNC with their power elites, reid, pelosi and kennedy threw their support and considerable influence to get obama nominated IN DIRECT CONTRAST to voters in their states who overwhelmingly chose Hillary Clinton. It is some comfort to know that there are others like Mr. Kaminsky who haven't been dumbed down and fooled by this transparent charade. I hope the Clinton delegates boycott this sham of a convention. Thank you.

At some point the American electorate will rebel against this blatant attempt by the media to usher Obama into the oval office. The attempt will backfire, resulting in a landslide victory by McCain.

Don't let these liberals get you down. Their media monopoly is coming to and end, and they know it. That's why they're not even trying to appear objective any more. This election is their "last hurrah" before they swirl down the drain. Many of them will be unemployed by the time the 2012 election rolls around. They are more committed to their moronic ideology than they are to ethics, and even to feeding themselves and their own families. Look around: The Dinosaur media deathwatch is in full swing as networks lose ratings at an ever increasing rate, and as useless rags like this one lose readership, cutting staff in order to stay afloat for a little while longer. The real media has moved to independent thinkers on the internet and on talk radio. The reason their isn't even any pretense of objectivity this election is because the "big media" leftists all know this is the last election that they will hope to have any influence over, so they're just collectively saying "screw it! We're going downb and we're going down hard! May as well get a marxist like Obama elected if we can. Screw our jobs, and screw objectivity. We MUST get Obama elected before we die!" So let them do what they've always done: Be biased idiots. No one listens to them anymore anyway. They just haven't figured that out yet.

Actually FOX is quite balanced when you consider, even recently the trip Obama took to the ME with 3 major anchors from the completely discredited alphabet networks. No bias there, yes?

FOX at least brings commentators in from both sides. One of the big problems with FOX news is that the perspectives are representative of BOTH left and Right that some shows resemble an episode of "Jerry Springer" than a news program.

Thanks for so willingly overlooking that to make your false point.

"Nimrods", eh? So do you always try to convince people of your point by insulting them first? We call it "libthink" where you can pretty much eliminate the part where you "think".

Have a great day there, Sparky!

Actually, Fox is tilting left. They have far more left commentators than right. They consistantly bring in a far left hack like Marc Lamont Hill on their Saturday morning stock programs ... as if he knows anything about wall street.
As to your Jerry Springer, it is the left contributors who invariably try to speak over other people.
We need a conservative network to balance NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC ... and now Fox

Have you seen the disparity with which the Democrat party is sucking up donations? Yet they insist that it's the Republicans who are the money-grubbers, and that it's the Republicans who court big business. Look at the AFL-CIO, which gives almost ~exclusively~ to the Democrats, and the trial lawyers, who do the same. Yeah, Obama is for "change." In a pig's eye.

It's not even an ~insult~! That's what makes it even more laughable.

Look up "Nimrod." He was supposedly a "mighty hunter."

I don't mind being likened to that. Let the Democrat morons "insult"-away!

Sadly for you both the Harvard and Pew Research recent studies of bias in news reporting have found FOX to be the most "Fair and Balanced" of all of them.

I suspect that balanced coverage would be the most effective way to promote the better candidate, which leaves me wondering why so many journalists choose to provide obviously one-sided coverage instead of honest reports. Is that their way of saying, "well, we know he's too inexperienced for the job and doesn't have any real ideas beyond vague 'change' and 'hope' but we like him anyways"?

Something to think about:
Dan Quayle had more experience in Government than Obama has at this point in their respective careers (when nominated to higher office).
Obama - manufactured and promoted by the Media - blatantly.
And the media claims there's no bias (roflo).

Don't forget this paper also supports the immorality of the .GAY movement, But isn't that typical of the libral Democrats ..
But as pointed out before .. It's just not this papaer it's the media in general ...
Look how the media helped exploit the Iraq situation and cost us many lives ..
Everybody has a bias ... And investigative reporting is a good thing too .. If it's not just a means to slander someone ..
News events should be told as is ... Not how you want them to be seen as .. Just like when to kids car jacked a vehicle and took and were stopped by police, when they come out of the car with a gun the cops dropped the one kid ... and arrested the other one .. And this paper made out the cops out to be the villians and the kids the heros .... Come On !!!
Being it's really the only newspaper online, I read it and shake my head a lot on how some of the stories are spun so tight to redirect the focus .. And some of the columnist are great .. But Mayo needs to go back to sports .. Maybe hang out in the locker rooms or something ..
But our liberal tainted media is what it is .. and If you believe in it .. Then you'll fall into its webb ..
If this paper was fair and balanced it would show both sides of Obama .. But that wouldn'sell Obama ..
