wow...never got a reaction quite like that before... yeah I'm 16. I guess dances has something against 16 year olds, thinks theyre ignorant or something, but this 16 year old has shown way more tolerance and maturity than her, however old she is. I dont really care what you people say about my Brethren assembly...I study God's word with the Baptist church as well, not that it's any of your business. My relationship with God is a personal thing and many people on here seem to want to disrupt that. That's fine, it won't work. This forum is really sad, with extremely sad, bitter people on it. The only reaction I've ever gotten is hate--and you people tell me that Im not being Christianlike here. That's fine... God told us Christians that we would be persecuted and rideculed. I'm just glad to be carrying my cross. Many times people have said that I pick what I want out of the Bible. If anyone can prove to me that I've said anything here that supports that, then show me and I will try to fix that. However, I dont think you will be able to, but you can try. The Apostle Paul tells us not to look down on those who are young. Maybe you people should read the Bible before telling me that I can't understand it.

NO, not some random person, you have interacted with that person on these boards, and with teacher, and you were told to go read about her posts about her committing suicide, and your snide comment was "why?". No compassion, no love for a fellow human being you have just been told was suffering, just "why?" as in why should I bother. NO break given to you, even if you are really only 16, you should have at least learned some compassion for your fellow human beings, if not you have learned nothing about God or Christ.

Your relationship with God has been made into a public thing by posting here and telling us we all need to live like you so don't be dishonest and say it is personal, you make it public, or do you not understand what those words mean? Your posts show you not to be tolerant or mature but scared and immature in your beliefs that somehow if we allow gay marriage in the US, your church in Canada will be affected. Most of us have been telling you that we have read the bible, and do read the bible, yet you are only using it to tell us how we should live more like you and the teachings of your church. Reread your own posts before judging how bitter people are, we are only showing you what you have shown us. You get what you give. And you can say you are 16, but why are you spending so much time here rather than doing what a 16 year old does, like school, or hanging out with friends if it is so sad to you? Find something exciting and live your own life if you are really 16, wouldn't that be a better way to spend your time?

alright tim, whatever. I dont have anything more to say to you. I've taken in what you have to say. Give it a rest, at least only yell at me through one forum. One is enough.

Deviant behavior is usually something like molestation or assualt...not love. As a straight male, I see nothing wrong with same-sex marriage. NOTHING. Let religions do whatever they want and lead a brainless population full of hate. Legalize love.

Amen!(so to speak). Yours is a mature, thoughtful opinion that flies right over the heads of the "moral majority". Grant it, their heads are pretty low to the ground, but that's a biological issue best left for another thread...

Why, you tell me how to live on more than one forum, so I answer on more then one. I am not yelling, just answering your posts.

what i have something against is a 16 year old showing disrespect for their elders... and betters.

i personally wish that you would stop calling paul an apostle. that was a name that he hung upon himself. he was not chosen by christ and le=ived nearly a hundred years after his death. on top of that history shows that he was a faggot. you may want to atch who you quote.

and here you are showing more disrespect for your elders and betters. i have read the bible from cover to cover on numerous occasions and find that almost everything that you have learned in your little cult is a lie filled with hatred.

your relationship with god is based upon lies. and you are a lier and worse if you profess to spread the hatred which they teach and preach.

Dances,

Do you have credible sources you can link here that
discuss Pauls sexual orientation?... Thanks

off hand no. it's alluded to in several places throughout history, however so it's not difficult to research.(not only the bible) there are some here who can add more to this line of conversation, however. what i know off the cuff, however, is that timothy was his concubine for many years and there were others as well.

Dances,

It is intellectually dishonest to make such a brash
statement and not be able to prove it.

It undermines your credibility.

NO, it is lazy for you to not do some research of your own and put it on others. Do some of your own education for once. It can lead you to learn a lot more than someone pointing you in a specific direction for one small bit of information. It is called learning. Try it sometime.

Good for you Crance, but I have read what you have posted, so what. You say so little new in this argument that most people don't need your sources. If you can't keep up, try a bit harder. Use your own mind to find things out, then maybe your posts won't be so stale.

Tim,

Put it this way. I would never off the cuff suggest that St Paul
was gay, and Timothy his concubine, like dances did without backing it up with SOMETHING.... ANYTHING ...

I am interested in hearing Dances reply ... unless you
are him. If you are him, you obviously have no evidence.

Anyone can make up any stories, but there is a credibility
issue when it comes from their imaginations!

I am not him, but do your own research. Many historians an theologians have discussed this, there is not conclusive evidence as there never will be with the bible because we don't have enough other text from that period to actually put together full histories of all the people involved (you should already know this if you have ever studied the bible fully), but there is supporting evidence in the way that they wrote to each other. It is not an off the cuff remark, it is used quite often in stupid religious arguments about homosexuality. Learn for yourself and formulate your own opinions from the research that you do, not from where others point you because then you are actually learning, rather than just regurgitating what others tell you, as you have been doing here. If not, keep on believing only what others direct you to believe, but that is a sad way to live IMHO. Learning keeps us alive.

it doesn't undermine anything at all of it's common knowledge throughout the theolotical world. even if the information about paul's sexual prefferences is left aside, it doesn't mitigate the fact that he was absolutely nothing but a self appointed, wanna-be apostle... a nothing. give it a rest because you are undermining YOUR credibility.

john, the internet, just as paper does, will hold still for anything. you can't trust around 85% or more of the informations which you recieve through this source. even wickopedia is filled with information sent in by readers and therefore subject to very severe editing. on top of that, the specific information which you say that you have included is normally specious at best as it comes from religious sources. try science and history for a change, okay?
