Interesting how Ryan was AGAINST the embargo but now all of a sudden he is the darling of the PRO-embargo "Cuba libre" junta.

Greater hypocrites I have never met.

Do these "Cuba libe" bunch actually have any conviction at all?

"In Miami, a flurry of speculation was stirred recently when it was discovered Rep. Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s running mate, voted at least three times against the US trade embargo with Cuba in 2001 and 2004. Standing as a committed free trader, Ryan is reported to have said:“If we’re going to have free trade with China, why not Cuba?”

Does Paul Ryan who is a flip flopper like Romney have any conviction?

"In fact, this is exactly the position Paul Ryan explained in a 2002 interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "The embargo doesn't work. It is a failed policy. It was probably justified when the Soviet Union existed and posed a threat through Cuba. I think it's become more of a crutch for Castro to use to repress his people. All the problems he has, he blames the American embargo."

http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/201...

I agreed with Ryans old stand on the embargo as it is a FAILED policy but sadly Ryan is now a flip flopper like Romney.

The embargo is as much of a failure as the Miami "Cuba libre" Senators and Congress bunch.

He was a racist and particularly enjoyed humiliating the Cuban negroes & mulatoes as well as the native Amerindian Mexicans whom he despised and made no effort to conceal while he was in Mexico.
Since he was a commander just like fidel, and was bolder than fidel, he enjoyed great power. fidel did not like the competition so he send him off on mission to Bolivia, where he was killed as fidel expected. This gave the revolution a martyr, while removing the competition, as well as producing an icon for the revolution.
It is said by those that found che, that he said: "Don't shoot, don't shoot I'm che & I'm worth more alive than dead, don't shoot" The soldiers that found him laughed & told him to say his last prayers, he cursed God, begged, cried, made offers to his captors, whined, wet his pants, soiled his pants, sobbed, BANG! Good riddance, the stinking COWARDLY "chancho" is dead!
**********What few people know is that while he claimed the title Doctor while he lived in Cuba, he never graduated from Medical School. The reason his fellow revolutionaries called him "che" was originally to denigrate him, because they refused to call him doctor or commandante, since those close to him looked down on him. The nickname stuck, and since in the Cuban jargon the word is unknown, it readily identified him. The people of Argentina use this word very liberally just as the Americans use the word "dude" or "man" or "guy". The myth is that he was a guerrilla expert, facts are that he never, not once, carried out a successful guerrilla activity

Lyin' Ryan tanned himself up and tried to pass himself off as Mario Rubio's long-lost elder brother.

'See, compadres? Mi nombre es Paulito, soy de La Habana!¡Viva Cuba libre!'

Kind of a 'frying pan/fire' situation, I guess, but at least Fidel chased out the gangsters and rich people and extended education and healthcare to all. That's SOMETHING in his favor.

Exactly wrong. Cuba was a third-world country typical of the Latin nations with a tiny, extremely wealthy upper class, a slightly larger middle class, and a huge majority of poor, uneducated folks, mostly peasants. It was run by a succesion of typical Latin caudillos,'men on horseback' who came and went, exploiting the country, enriching themselves, then being assassinated or turning pwoer over to a subordinate.

You know literally nothing.

I was born in Cuba and agree with you 100%.

Well the racist ,white elite Cuban Batistians like "Honest Abe" and countless fascists in Miami say things were better under Batista.

They have also given us rampant political corruption in Miami. Cuban MAFIA is a fitting name for them.
Even the election fraud has come from the right wing Miami Cubans.

The uncle of a right wing ex Hialeah mayor was recently arrested for it and he doesn't deny it but we all KNOW that NOTHING will come of it in this Cuban corrupt third world city.

"Government corruption, mismanagement, police misconduct, election fraud, theft and ethics violations seem to be standard operating procedure in city hall"

If they do I have NEVER seen it and greater separatists I have yet to meet than that bunch.

The Cuban community that doesn’t care about corruption when it casts its vote was critically portrayed by most leading city columnists and others, Cuban and otherwise. Robert Steinback, a Black Miami Herald columnist, said the Cuban community is gullible. Liz Balmaseda calls it “a knee-jerk majority” that would elect a hamster wearing a Cuba Libre T-shirt, and,“They only cared that he was Cuban.”
