You know this really is not news. Wal-Mart has done a lot for America, they have become the nation's distributions system for nearly 120,000 SKUs. I am not personally a supporter of Hillary Clinton, being of another political party and realize all is fair game, but it appears to me that this story is politically motivated and that is a shame really.

I have criticized Rick Santorum on similar issues, so I think it is an issue. Not a big issue, but it does need to be brought to light. A lot of politicians say one thing, yet take money from the other side. The illegal immigration issue is loaded with it. A Senator will campaign against illegal immigration, then take money from corporations that have a vested interest in "cheap labor".I think it is fair to shed light on the contradiction.

Anyone who has debated me knows what a fan I am of the Clintons. This is as much an issue as Chaneys affilliation with Halliburton. So every shady deal Walmart is involved in should be laid at Hillarys rather large feet? No more then Halliburtons should have been laid at Chaneys. These people were associated in the decision making roles of these companies, they no longer are. So Hillary on this one you get a pass from me. There are, and will be plenty of legitimate Scandles involving you and your corrupt family for us to expose.

Nothing to worry about, UNLESS Wal*Mart is given contracts in Iraq to do whatever it is that they do...
Of course, Republicans like to seize on a single issue, and repeat it over again... until the power of cliche more important then the truth. The democrats are more honest because they have to be.

Ah ha! but there it is you have hit it on the head. Thats why we are really over there. It's not for Oil, Its for WalMart, It's for Chili's and McDonalds and Wendy's and Sears and Nordstroms Dairy Queen, and Publix, and Piggly Wiggly......Well ok maybe not Piggly Wiggly, But you get my drift. It's about promoting the Philosophy of Capitalisim. When they build the first WalMart in Bagdad, you'll know freedom has come.

There are McDonalds and Qwikie Marts all over the world. They are not exclusively in democratic countries. Go to athird world dictatoship, plenty of American companies.

And its a beginning, after all China is quite a bit larger then Iraq. Capitalist Democracys do not attack each other. Sorry Parlo, China slowly is coming over to the light. Now if we can just handle this Taiwan Problem without bloodshed. Now that could end up being a much greater problem then any thing we could imagine happening in Iraq.

I said "you'll know freedom has come" I didnt say freedom would be rooted when WalMart arrives. It's just that it gives the people a tast of things they may never before have had the opportunity to have. and that opens their eyes and makes them want more.

I agree with you that alot of good can come from it. But there are also countries where I think US corporate presence only hinders democracy. The corporations suppress any reform and pay off corrupt dictators. The mining industries are famous for this. Now dont accuse me of Blaming America. I just dont think some of these mining companies have American ideals in their heart.

Of course the Clintons have ties to WalMart, they are from Arkansas and WalMart, Tyson, and J B Hunt have done a great deal for NW Arkansas as well as all of America. What about Baskin Robbins, lets get on Hillary's case for her involvement with them. Who remembers that the elder George Bush was a keynote speaker at the WalMart stockholders meeting in either 1993 or 1994? Interesting huh? I am not a big fan of either of the Clintons even though I lived in Arkansas most of my life. I voted for Bill for governor and for president and would again if the competition was the same.

Very Good points. Having visited Bentonville, AR indeed it is agreed that any politician worth their salt would support the home team, as all politics are local

Let's complain about Joe Louis having his debt to the IRS forgiven! Or Nixon's association with Bebe Rebozo!! Or Strom Thurmond's illegitimate black daughter. Of course I'm being facetious. In other words, let's forget the trivial "ties to corruption" and involve ourselves in REAL threats such as the bird flu.

Edgar Texarkana wrote: Let's all call it hog wash and get on with corruption.....it's the sign of the times.......right! Don't think anyone is saying accept it as a fact of life and get on with corruption. Corruption needs to be dealt with. But, there are issues that need the attention of our country's leaders and they should not have to spend so much of their time (which we as taxpayers pay for) dealing with issues raised for political reasons. So what if Hillary is a lesbian, Bill has a black child, Bill is immoral, Clinton hates NASCAR, etc. They were elected by the people. That is what this country is founded on. Did we know about Whitewater, Paula Jones, Jennifer Flowers, Baskin Robbins, etc. before the elections. Yes we did and still voted for Bill. Did we know about WalMart previously. Was all this known before Hillary was elected. Yes, so why the big issue now.

I'm a yellow dog Democrat and a Wal-Mart boycotter. I used to feel any Democrat would be a distinct improvement over what we have now, but now it's any Democrat except Hillary.

I dont want her to run either. I dont like her Iraq positions for one thing. Also there is something "third world" about having our presidents be Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton for 28 years. 1988-2016.
