Stop the tears

Please, who didn't see this coming. If only our leaders listened to the will of the people in the party and got behind Ned Lamont Dems would not be in this position. Stop acting like this is a surprise. Joe turned into a Neo-Con years ago, supporting an ill conceived war thats robbing Americans of billions a day. The man fully embraced Bush, why are people shocked he has embraced McSame? Amann, how did the party throw Joe under the bus? Typical politician way of thinking on this. That job does not belong to Joe, it belongs to the people, and if we want it back, we'll take it! He drifted to the far right on a position important to the country and his party. It's people like you that chose not wanting to hurt feelings, or worse, your career and threw principle to the wind. It's you that broke the back of a grass roots movement, bashed Lamont supporters as "thugs"and attacked us with lies. Remember Joe accusing Lamont supporters of hacking Joe's website? The State Attorney General correctly concluded Joe didn't pay his bill and worse, knew this as the reason! Remember when Joe paid teenagers to ambush Lamont at campaign events? If you agree with Joe politically, more power to you. We can debate those principles and positions. That is healthy. I have no stomach though for these spineless leaders who want it both ways. See you in the voting booth...

I think it's a shame...Joe is being spiteful because some demoocrates didn't support him when he ran for president..I can't believe he would throw all these years away...I think he's a trader and he can't be trusted...I wouldn't vote for him ever again....Everytime I see him on tv I see a person who has been trying to payback the democrates for something that happened years ago...It's a shame what bitterness can do.

I wish you whiny Lamont people would get over it. "Stop the tears" says it isn't Joes job it is the peoples. Well the people elected Joe. Too many politicians who counted on Good Ole Joe to deliver bailed out on him when he looked vulnerable. Well, Joe has always represented ALL the people of Connecticut not just Democrats. That is what got him elected and will again.

Actually, Stop the Tears, Lieberman is the one with the principle. And What a shame - it's spelled traitor - that's what one is when they do not support the war.

Homeboy you are right. The people re-elected Joe. But he won running an ugly campaign full of lies and thug tactics that are now fully exposed. Now we can also see his judgement fully in in the light. He has looked back at the last eight years and though "I think we need four more years on this path! We're in the hand basket, but not quite to hell. Let's go for more of the same". This is Joe's last term.

Who said I hate my country? I love my country. Now you are going to put words in my mouth and call me a traitor for expressing my views which I believe I am allowed to do in a democratic country. Seems to me that you are the one who hates the ideas this country stands for, not me. Try opening your mind and your heart. There are always multiple sides to every issue. Your verbal attacks are both counter-productive and quite immature.

It's utterly bizarre that our national politics expect a politician to vote in lock-step with his or her party. What ever happened to independence and individual thought? In my opinion, Joe Lieberman is one of the only politicians with any integrity in Washington. He votes and vocally supports what he believes is RIGHT - not what he thinks will ingratiate himself with a political party or get him reelected. I disagree with Lieberman on plenty of things, but I respect him more than any other politician. Dems and Republicans alike need to get over the mindset of "breaking ranks", "treason," etc. It's just not healthy. As for the bellyaching here about Joe not doing what the Democrats want him to: Last I checked, Lieberman was elected as an Independent (with support from voters of both stripes.) Joe is doing exactly what voters expect of an Independent: he is acting Independently.

PROUD MAMA, luckily for us your views are passee, although I believe you have an ally in Rush Limbaugh. The world is much more complex than your capability to understand. Enjoy yourself while you can. Because regardless of who wins, your political power will be nil.

Yea, Lieberman should support the party that THREW HIM UNDER THE BUS!!!!! I could never fault somebody who supports the person they think is best, regardless of what party they belong to. As a republican, I voted for Lieberman every single time, even when he ran with Gore for vice-president! Anyone.....ANYONE who votes simply because of their party is an idiot! GOD BLESS JOE LIEBERMAN!!!!

Lucky for us the surge worked and lucky for us we have a president who did not want to cut and run and lucky for us, Lieberman supported the the troops.

And what's with the crack about the towel on the head? Are you also a bigot? Are you aware that wearing a turban is a customary practice of Sikhs who have no relationship to the supposed terrorists we are fighting in Iraq? I find your radical views and bigotry particularly disturbing and un-American. Perhaps it is you who is the traitor to the ideals of this country.

I now have to change my party. I am embarrassed to be a Democrat. Joe Lieberman is an American with the right of free choice. Once a republican friend told me that "the democrats would vote for anyone". Just pick any democrate and vote for that person regardless of what you believe in? Not my idea of a free and healthy country. Joe has the right to vote and support a person he believes in. It is much healthier than supporting a person just because the person is a democrat. Democrats, find a strong candidate who has an interest in our country.

WOW, don't bother arguing with PM, you're just feeding the troll. People who cannot see the insanity that has been wrought on this country over the past 8 years are not going to change their mind on an internet forum.

Proud Mamma, I happen to agree with your politics. I think that this war was necessary and that tens of thousands of people's lives were spared becasue the US went to war with Iraq and the Iraqis decided to quickly execute him. I also feel that if we pull out quickly, we will repeat the same mistake that George Bush Sr made and the backlash will be a stronger, smarter, more populous terrorist threat in 20 years, and one in which we have even less intelligence. However, for you to call people who disagree "traitors" and suggest the towel head thing is just so ugly. There are quite a few arguments to justify the war. I hope to make these arguments intelligently, coherently and respectfully to those Americans (or not, anyone can have an opinion here) who disagree. WOW, I disagree with you. But you are not a traitor to think we should not be at war. It is an uncomfortable position to be in and often the media and anti-war politicians act as if the war is a permanent situation, and a war should be a means to an end, not the end itself. To complicate matters, our president has seemingly given up hope for improving public opinion. I actually agree with GWB's reasoning and actions but when you're the president you have to at least pretend to care what the public thinks and he doesn't. I am disappointed in that. I think that Joe Lieberman will likely not be a VP with McCain for that very reason but he is doing what he feels is right and I have to say that I have always liked Joe's reasoning and demeanor. I think he's a hell of a guy and politics itself will probably end his career in politics - since he didn't play the game right. And I don't care what you wear on your head! A turban is not offensive to me.
