The only problem is Clinton will be the Democrat nominee, just like McCain will be the Republican nominee. We get the worst from both parties.

B.J.: I agree that McCain is the worst choice for the Republicans and I have my reasons. But I'd be interested in hearing why you came to that conclusion.

The reason I don't like McCain is I don't like McCain. Beyond my personal dislike (I don't like the guy in case I haven't said that) I don't like his uneven temper, his arrogance and his distortion of the truth regarding the issues including Mitt Romney's positions (the man I endorse).
McCain has no executive experience (Senator does not qualify) and repeatedly mischaracterizes himself as "conservative" when he is anything but conservative.
I want to vote for the person who I believe will do the best job for our country Dode, and I don't think it is McCain.
I could go on Dode, but let me finish by simply saying I don't like the guy.

Well, B.J., we really agree on this one! Add to your list of dislikes my feeling that his record as a "war hero" in no way qualifies him to be our president. The fact that he "served" in one of our country's most shameful wars, but spent more than five years as a POW, may be something to be pitied, but it certainly didn't teach him anything about being the president of the most powerful nation in the world. The fact that he brings up his "heroism" so often, as he did in last night's debates, shows that he is more concerned with war than peace.

He's the black male version of Hillary. Other than that, there is no difference at all and Washington would remain the same as it has been. Broken. No change. Whether it's Hillary or Obama, your First and Second Amendment rights may very well be repealed. Forever.

Do you want change? A balanced Budget? Border Security? The best chance of keeping your constitutional rights? Vote for Mitt.

Not Mc Cain.

What a load of poppycock!
The "excitement factor" of Obama's campaign has fizzled with the acceptance of Ted (the Hero of Chappaquiddick)Kennedy's support.
You can no longer say that Obama doesn't "bring political baggage with him" nor can you say that, "he represents a clear break from the 'old school' politics that has dominated Washington for much too long." Ted Kennedy is the living fossil of "old school politics." You also reported, "Obama's largest perceived liability is his relative lack of experience" and then qualified it by saying, "this lack of experience will force Obama to surround himself with people who do have the necessary experience."

In my humble opinion you all need to re-evaluate your position.

I agree the dems could have given their constituents more and better choices, but we are either going to have Obama as a potential president or Hillary.
I want Obama as their candidate.
The Clinton sex scandal was not a sex scandal either. The crime was committed when a standing president tried to use his power to prevent a US citizen of her right to due process. During the commission of this felonious behavior that same standing president committed perjury and suborned perjury when he asked the 20 something year old intern to keep a lid on the affair he'd carried on with her in the Oval Office.
I've often asked defenders of this behavior to look at it from a different angle. What if your young daughter had met with a high ranking official, perhaps a principle while she applied for a job as a teacher, who opened his fly exposing himself and told her to "kiss it." How would that parent feel if that principle used his standing in the community and influence to prevent their daughter from her day in court in a civil law suit by lying, smearing her name, obstructing justice, committing perjury and suborning perjury? How would you defenders feel if it was your daughter?
I know Hillary was not the one who did this but she publicly blamed this scandal on a "right wing conspiracy" out to get her husband. The Clintons were the innocents and it was those who believe in the value system abhorring her husband's behavior who made up the conspiracy to do in his presidency. That idiotic accusation failed to recognize the group who abhorred the behavior would also have abhorred the behavior of inventing the conspiracy. It fails the smell test from it's utterance by Hillary. She had to know her claim wasn't true from the time she said it and as of yet has not apologized to us for her lying accusations. This was not a knew accusation Hillary's ears were hearing for the first time revealing the dishonesty in the accusation.
I have re-evaluated my position and keep coming up with the same conclusion....I don't want the Clintons back in the White House.

Hey, B.J., a few postings ago you said Mitt Romney was your pick for prez. So why are you evaluating Hillary? I believe that is for us Dems to decide. By the way, you must be very happy today with your stock portfolio when you read that Exxon Mobil announced the largest annual profit ever recorded...$40.6 billion and the largest quarterly profit...$11.7 billion. The press release doesn't mention that Exxon has not to this day paid the $5 billion damages the court decided they owed for the 1994 Valdez oil spill. From many appeals the damages have been reduced to $2.5 billion but they are still appealing and Exxon is earning interest on the money set aside in case they ever have to pay anything. And you want to argue about Bill's zipper? There's more than one way to screw people!

Excellcently put. he has yet to state his actual stand on any issue. neither does he answer a question that is asked, he does however manage to walk all away around the actual question. I just heard Obama, say I will get all of Hillary's votes, but she can't say that she will get all of my votes. Well, here is a news flash for him, he will not get my vote. I will vote republican way before i ever vote for him. I believe Obama to be just like the rest of the politicans, he however seems to be better at hiding it.

That profit is at approximately $.07 a Gallon of fuel.
So how about this Govt. profiting off of the same fuel at Approximately $.70 a Gallon Your hatred of profits are directed at the wrong people.

And speaking of criminal profiteering,
Didn't you try to profit off of your faked death?

Dode I am happy with the direction of the market in the past week or so. I do own Exxon, but only because it is within my mutual fund's list of companies they've bought.
I think profit is a GOOD thing. I'm glad they are profitable and frankly surprised anyone would see profits as negative or bad in any way.
Without the capitalistic system we practice you and I would not have the standard of living we enjoy. You have in past postings indicated you have a place you go to in Southern Calif. Affluence entitles you two residences (if you have another), and I think that is a good thing.
I also have a place in Long Beach off Broadway a few blocks from the beach.
I was not arguing about Bill's zipper as you allege. I was arguing crimes like obstruction of justice, perjury and subordination of perjury are not about someone's zipper. I was also arguing the other day that I wanted the best of both parties as their candidates, which I again did.
Few noticed the other day when Mitt Romney pointed out by the end of the next term of whomever wins this race government entitlements will surpass 70% of government spending. He also pointed out we're currently at 60%, and unable to pay for it. Anderson Cooper skipped right over the most telling and relevant point made in the entire debate.
You're right, I want Romney, but I want him to beat Obama.

Brian is absolutely correct...the government gets far more per gallon than the oil companies and still have difficulty repairing roads, which brings up the road issue. One of the problems we have environmentally is the disposal of tires warn out by our automobiles.

Europe has for years now ground up their tires and mixed it in the asphalt they put on their roads. The cost is slightly more but the length of wear before you have to re-pave is doubled and the amount you put down about 2/3 the thickness actually lessening the cost over conventional asphalt.

What a concept! Less cost, longer wear, solves an environmental problem and government doesn't do it.

Barack Obama endorsed by leading anti-war group
Liberal network counts 3.2 million members

LOS ANGELES (AP)-- Barack Obama picked up the endorsement of a leading anti-war group Friday.
The Illinois Democrat's long-standing opposition to the war helped him pick up the backing of MoveOn.org, a liberal network which counts 3.2 million members.MoveOn.org executive director Eli Pariser says the country needs a president who will end the war, provide universal health care, address climate change and restore America's standing in the world.Organizers say the group has 1.7 million members in the 22 states scheduled to vote in the presidential race Tuesday and it would immediately begin a campaign to get them behind Obama.
Obama Friday also picked up the support of a large union in California which had been backing rival John Edwards, who dropped out of the race this week.

This is a challenge to the editor of the Post to print a copy of the alledged "add" that idiot Brian says I ran in Speakeasy announcing my death and soliciting funds. I will not speak directly to the idiot, but I might have my lawyer look him up, since this is the second or third time he has spewed this trash.

Dode. If his claim is untrue then maybe you should cut to the chase. Have your lawyer file a civil suit for defamation. And add the Post since they know, or should know the truth of the issue and they allow the posting of libel just might put them at risk.
