You're right. Letterman would have done nothing but try to make fun of McCain anyway. When Letterman achieves what McCain has in his life including being a few days from achieving POTUS Letterman would, just maybe, be justified in being upset at McCain's no show. I hardly see how Letterman who has done nothing but tell bad jokes his entire life can critize McCain who felt he had more important business to attend to (which included being interviewed by Couric) then sitting down to the likes of Letterman.

What makes Letterman look even worse in his tirade is that he got Olberman to sit in who, makes no bones about his hate for McCain. Oh, I almost forgot...even though Letterman and Olberman are complete jerks...their laughing, giggling, adoring fans are even worse.

Obama Lies wrote:
THE BAILOUT AND THE OBAMA ACORN SHELL GAME: How Your Money Will Be Used To Fund Voter Fraud
FIRST, A FEW PRELIMINARY POINTS:
Obama's community organizing days involved training grievance-mongers from the far-left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The ACORN mob is infamous for its bully tactics (which they dub "direct actions").
With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud.
ACORN is under investigation in several states for voter fraud. They have been caught turning in hundreds of thousands of fake voter registration cards in an effort to stuff ballot boxes with fake voters and pump up Democrat vote totals. ACORN's founder also tried to cover up an embezzlement scheme his little brother perpetrated when he stole $1 million dollars of the organization's money. This has only lately come to light.
Milwaukee's top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards. Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN's payroll. In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused "of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials." Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.
ACORN's political arm endorsed Obama in February and has ramped up efforts to register voters across the country. In the meantime, completely ignored by the mainstream media, the Obama campaign admitted failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services, Inc." for "advance work."
NOW, WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE DEMOCRATICALLY ENDORSED BAILOUT PROPOSAL?
House Republicans refused to support the Henry Paulson/Chris Dodd compromise bailout plan yesterday afternoon. One of the sticking points, as Senator Lindsey Graham explained later, was a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund — a boondoggle that Democrats in Congress has used to fund political-action groups like ACORN and the National Council of La Raza:
Graham told Greta van Susteren that Democrats had their own priorities, and it wasn’t bailing out the financial sector.
That being said, this section proves that the Democrats in Congress have learned nothing from this financial collapse. They still want to game the market to pick winners and losers by funding programs for unqualified and marginally-qualified borrowers to buy houses they may not be able to afford — and that’s the innocent explanation for this clause.
The real purpose of section D is to send more funds to La Raza and ACORN through housing welfare, via the slush fund of the HTF. They want to float their political efforts on behalf of Democrats with public money, which was always the purpose behind the HTF. They did the same thing in April in the first bailout bill, setting aside $100 million in “counseling” that went in large part to ACORN and La Raza, and at least in the former case, providing taxpayer funding for a group facing criminal charges in more than a dozen states for fraud.

He is not a threat to anyone, nor is his congregation. He is a great rhetorical speaker in a tradition common to black churches. He has certainly earned the right to criticize our country when phony patriots and draft dodgers like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney send other people's children to war based on false pretenses.
Right on, brutha!

Or Senator Obama's pastor, da man hisself, might say,

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America!"

Why are self loathing Democrats so obsessed with the term, "lying". You sound like Goebels. Nicolle did confuse comedy and Letterman.

What makes Letterman so special that guests can't cancel on him? He is nothing but a talk show host for Christ sakes, surely not someone important. All of you supporting Letterman need to rethink what you are doing. It is making you all seem about as stupid as the guest he had on the other night, Paris Hilton.
it's not a problem to cancel a letterman appearance but the way it was done is what irks me.mccain calls him up and instead of telling the truth he hands him the story that he's flying to washington to help fix the economy. which is fine if he had actually done that instead of being down the street being interviewed by katie couric. probably trying to do damage control on courics interview with palin. so here we see mccain outright lying and showing he is putting his campaign ahead of the country as well or he would have forgone that interview and actually got on a plane to washington that night instead of the next morning.
so as you see the issue here is not letterman but mccain, and mccain must be a moron to realise letterman would'nt find out his bullshit lie since katie couric works for cbs as well.
mr. "i'm a big warhero/pow" mccain could'nt even man up enough to tell the truth and tell letterman he had a more important interview to make.
and republicans always claim to be so moral, love seeing that integrity and work...

when a person lies to you outright would'nt you be just a tad annoyed? especoially by someone who wants to be president?

And Obama was dissed by SNL for standing them up?! Get real, you only get slammed by the media if you are not one of their ilk. Kind of like feminists blasting Palin because she isn't their kind of feminist. Double standards abound.
