Obama will be president. Congratulations United States of America. You have broken the historical chains of the past, just by nominating this bright young man, and shown the world its time to go forward. I did not think it would happen. but it did. Carry On!

God help this country if this man actually gets elected. First he is not ready to handle this job and secondly I do not trust him. We do not know enough about this guy to trust him with the responsibility of running this country. Times are tough enough right now, we need someone tougher. He suddenly quits his church because of the racial remarks etc. So there was never any racism at this church before this? Suddenly his church just changes? I don't think so.....I'm sure he was there not too long ago cheering against the "white" man. Racism tension are high enough in this country, we don't need someone to feed the fire. Lord knows if a white man was running and they showed video from a pastor at his church making fun of a black man....there would be outrage and protests all over the place with Al Sharpton leading the pack. Racism is wrong in either direction and any black person that wants a black president just to be on top of everyone else is no better than a person who owned a slave a very long time ago. I am wondering how many people will vote for Obama just because he is black.....that is scary, the man is not ready to run this country.

Maybe he will vote for Obama since he's obviously not a racist. It's kind of ironic that so many racist Democrats say they are going to vote for McCain and all he has in common with them is his skin color. This is for any working class voter who is thinking of voting Rep.: They have never done one thing to help anyone in America who makes less than $200,000 a year. They do not take care of the men and women they send of to war, they talk a good game but that's all it ever is, talk. They talk about fiscal responsibility but when they have control they out spend the dems almost 3 to 1 and borrow money to do it. open your eyes and vote your own best interests.

I was young and dumb like you once too, that would be when I voted for Mondale and Ferraro, thank God others had the sense to understand the candidates completely in order to make a better choice than I did. I voted strictly on the fact that Ferraro was a woman. and she was going to save abortion from being abolished, well that was dumb, I am a woman, she's a woman, so I voted for that, I learned my lesson and have always gotten all the information from then on. I am anything but young and dumb. Sorry that you regret who you voted for. I never have, and I never will.

American Voter wrote: <quoted text> Hey, here's a proud Obama supporter from KY! 33% of the people in this state will vote for Obama, and the rest might come around. You won't see a lot of public support though. I'm afraid to put out a yard sign because the Klan is active in my part of the state. But there's hope: Obama To Head To Appalachia In First Week As Presumptive Nominee ...Obama will head to Virginia on Thursday -- right smack in the heart of Appalachia, where he is often thought to be toast because of his outsized losses to Senator Clinton in some of the region's primaries. While not all of Virginia is properly inside Appalachia, the cities Obama will visit -- including Bristol, Abingdon and Castlewood -- are all nestled within western Virginia, close to the Tennessee border.... The Pollster.com best-fit line of polls over time has shown Obama steadily closing on Sen. John McCain in the state.... And the latest SurveyUSA poll, taken between May 16-18, shows Obama with a 49-42 lead over John McCain -- nearly outside the poll's +/- 4.1 percent margin of error. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/obam... The more people see of Obama, the more they like his policies and the more they trust him to carry them out. I hope you are right about people coming round to him. I started out as a Clinton supporter but changed my mind when I realized that Obama's run was a true grass roots movement and he was not taking money from from PACs and special interests while Hillary still was. If she had gotten the nod I would have voted for her without hesitation but I'm glad he's the nominee, or soon will be. People really need to get past the color thing and realize that Clinton and Obama have almost identical positions on the real issues facing America.

All wonderful people in history, but why do we have to seperate them at black americans? Which is why I never understood Black History month.....how can black people say this country is racist, when they get a whole month dedicated to them......when is white history month?? Let's stop trying to over compensate for things that happened in the past and move on......stop referring to people as black, white, hispanic and start saying American citizen.

Obama Is A Moron wrote: Obama's religion, black liberation theology: "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love." That quote isn't from Obama, is it?

Will Obama tow the party line by inviting Hillary to be the VP or will he show some real backbone?
Who will Obama pick for VP? Is Hillary really the dream ticket that will put the Dems over the top or is she a liability? How about other potential choices -- Gov. Bill Richardson (NM), Harold Ford (former TN congressman), Sen. Webb (lots of military experience) or someone totally radical like Michael Moore.

McCain will win in Nov, not because he's the best person but because Hillarys supporters will not vote for Obama. They think they have been robbed.
