<quoted text>
I think most things should be funded locally, so exactly where do we disagree?
-----
If I was living in America I would be happy paying for the defense (not for the Iraq war though) as I think it's needed and if you could fund it with sales tax I would be fine with that.(Exactly why are you ok with sales tax?)
But in sweden, my god, it's such a waste of money. I don't know what they think they could do with our defense except for delaying the enemy (who would care enough about our tiny country to be our enemy in the first place??) five minutes because they're laughing their asses off at our sorry excuse for a defense.
Should the US have universal healthcare?

Not OK with.It is the lesser of 2 evils.Taxing(or penalizing) someone for how hard they work is obscene and hits the most productive hardest.At least sales treats everyone equal.Until everyone is like Jesus,Ghandi,Mother Teresa,and the Dalai Lama,we will be saddled with governments.

You know I love you both :) |
Interesting strategy...causing your enemy to laugh themselves to death. I think why he likes the sales tax idea more than income tax, as you have more of a choice to pay it. You only pay the tax it you choose to purchase something. I think in some ways this could be more harmful than good, but that topic needs a thread of it's own as well. |

.......... Too serious??? You must be having a super blonde moment. Very few people consider me too serious outside of the office. If you only knew how I am beyond the discussion of this serious issue. I live my life full of fun and thankfully enough health to allow me to take part in activities with my sons. I'll give you a hunt.......if we have waves, you'll find me surfing. If the surf is down, look for my bubbles. |

They have my admiration too :) But especíally you as you have put it together and it seems like you have done the work to get it noticed. Also I think it is grand of you to point out what other people did. It will be hard for me to fight with you (and get a little nasty) ever again, no matter what you say. |
Who me? Never.:) |

I'd say you are a lot of things, but not a puppy, and I would say that you're not an old wolf too if I thought that was a bad thing ;) |

I usta surf myself.In Costa Rica,I just waterboard and snorkle.On the serious side,either one of us could have played Humphrey Bogart roles.I would have been Rick in "Casablanca".You would have been "Captain Queeg" in "The Caine Mutiny".(hehe).

With some things you don't have a choice at all and with other things you might as well say that you can't buy what you want to buy with your own (hard earned) money without having to pay for something you might not want to pay for. |

.......... Funny Cheech..........Here's looking at you kid. I must disagree however with my chosen role.....I prefer to think of myself as James Bond in Thunderball. "I guess you get the point." That's one of the lines if you saw the film. |
Didn't say I agreed with it...just suggested that as an explanation. The discussion of a national sales tax comes up at most of our tax CPE courses. |

Now that I would like to see. |

This holds true as well, with our current confiscatory tax system. |
