So did my grandfather. |

For the first 40 years of my life we had ONE CURRENCY. The same dollar bills, the same coins.
In the last 20 years we've had Susan B. Anthony dollars, Sacajawea dollars, another dollar that just came out, state quarters, presidential quarters, two or three iterations of the 20-dollar bill, several five dollar bills, and all bills except the one have been changed at least once. Why? Simple: Uncirculated money is free money for the gubbermint. The politicians discovered that if they get millions of dollars into peoples' coin collections, there won't be an inflationary impact. So the gubbermint prints more to pay their giveaway programs and nobody is the wiser. Simple. |

This is precisely why the United States made all the bills the same size... to make our currency more egalitarian. You cannot tell a rich man from a poor man by the size of his money-roll. When you look at the history, you find there ARE reasons why things where done a certain way. |

Once again, how does this have any bearing on the blind and their desire to be able to tell what bills they are using? |

Who'd 'a thought that the blind asking for paper currency they can identify would unleash the four horsemen of the apocalypse and bring about the destruction of the world? It must be a terrible burden to be all-seeing and all-knowing. This may sound a bit mercenary, but could you use your gifts to tell me the lottery numbers for tonight? |

It's not a hard thing to accomplish. The Canadians seem to do it fine with little bumps on their bills. I noticed it when I went there first thing.
I'm kind of annoyed that the government went to the trouble to NOT do this simple thing, and spent money on a trial to prevent doing it, even. |

Can you imagine the cost to reprogram every ATM to accept and categorize different size bills, every vending machine and other automated change machines? Also, the cost to the Fed to get the new forms in place and to get the money out of circulation! I sympathize with their plight but like the person who had the comment about legs and sidewalks, we cannot accommodate for every disability. BTW, you and I will bare the burden of the cost.

1 Maybe sooner than you think. "Common Currency" was a catch phrase used by Bush and Vincente Fox in their recent meeting concerning trade relations ( "enhanced NAFTA agreement ) between the US and Mexico. Not long after that meeting we started seeing Mexican freight trucks allowed to enter the United States without inspection and no longer required to comply with US DOT safety requirements. Maybe if we hurry we can blame this on Ted Kennedy before he dies. |

whos going to foot the tax bill to pay for all the changes? the blind people? |

if they think brailling bills will solve this problem, think again. it'll just be easier to pass counterfeit brailled bills to the blind, how are they gonna know the difference?

I love how the NWO takes its time and conducts its agend in baby step. They manouver closer to thier ends of a cashless society where everyone carrys a chipped REAL ID card
They rest for a while on that part (chiiped cashless plan) mybe go after revolt somehwere in canada as they make it harder in a certain province to brandish an gun if you had a record of any kind then the Pope casually says aliens are ok to believe I mean its lil holes here and there so far from each other to avoid collapse(detection) like when drillin you avoid drilling to close to another w but once youve connecetd enough holes in the face . You blast with a key event and the entire wall of rock gives way to be mucked out and reaped for the evil one's ends . |

you all think im crazy but thats how its happening. lil peices are hammered away on till they fall into place for their plan.
As the corp power gets bigger they can influence politics better. Better Gov influence means more profits, more power influncing Gov even better, more influence mean even greater profits!!! on and on this has taken place and only in a short look where we are today? YOu think in a year it will be better? ALl You'll see is more consolidation here and there everyday as we head into corprate fasism where noone is left to speak out and a thousand differnt companines (employerrs to millions) will all report to the same 6 chairs in a boradroom high in the sky THere will be 100 of the boardrooms each contolling millions and deceiving with 1000's of individual brand names. These will take orders from one ruling world party |

They are saying that it would cost close to 50 billion to change over the the federal part in order to print this different type of money.
It's not that I don't want to make it easier for blind people but what percentage of the population are we talking about? Everything can be considered discrination towards another person or group. It really depends who screams the loudest and longest. Doesn't the blind currently get free scanners from the government to scan their money to tell what denomination it is? There has to be a more cost effective way to make it easier for the blind to determine the denomination of a bill. Pay attention, I said EASIER because at the current time, they are using paper money in financial transactions. Hell, a debit card would be optimal. If you think different color and sized money will deter people from trying to cheat money out of blind people, you are wrong. Next, it will be a requirement to have brail labels on department store clothing, canned goods, cash register receipts. If you are going to have or formulate a plan, THINK about it and how it will play out futher down the road. Btw, having to redesign and redistribute this new currency in the US would be a good way for the government to impliment the NAU (North America Union). I can't wait for obese people to start suing fast food entities and winning. |

PC out of control. Just wait to see what happens if Osama gets elected.

lolz there seems to be 2 arguments here. 1. Yes why not make the bills different sizes and 2. BLIND PEOPLE ARE BASTARDS.
There seems to be a group of people in America who absolutely HATE anyone that isnt exactly like them, same colour, same political party (republican), same dress sense. They believe anyone not IDENTICAL to them should hang their heads in mute shame or be KILLED. What is wrong with these red faced bulging veined idiots? Where do they get the energy to HATE EVERYONE so much? |

Well if we just used the Euro here... then we would be in compliance. It would make the world markets i.e. oil trading that much more convenient as well. We could have one world monetary system. We could all share a Coke while we sing about it. :)

the only effective costs I can see, are:
-'cutters' are standardized dimension, so new 'cuts' need either new machines, or if programmable, a 'complete set' for each 'denominiation-size'; - the paper sheets, which then get printed and cut, must be sized to accommodate different 'multiples'(eg: maybe we'd be able to cut (hypothetically) "10x$5 or 12x$1"); - if this causes a NEW 'separation of work-flow'(ie: different from status quo), then work-FLOORS have to be re-imagined (not 'the floor', but as in 'wherever a unified work-zone exists); - Colours? AND Anti-counterfeiting measures! -'Wrappings' means however the banded notes leave the US Treas.Dept., maybe those components need to be segregated by denomination. That really can't cost 'billions'... seems like a bit of 'smoke' being sent... Zm
