U.S. court: currency discriminates against the blind

Does this ruling also apply to toilet paper? It doesn't let them know which side of the paper they're using to wipe their ass.

I thought of that too. The rag paper they use to print currency is pretty tough, but it gets creased and worn pretty soft before it's turned in to the Feds for disposal.

Perhaps a more plastic like insert could be woven in?

We shouldn't call it paper money, saying the word "paper" carelessly may cause a nearby innocent tree inner anxiety and stunt its growth thereby necessitating the services of a tree doctor who will then require payment for services rendered, and then...should he be paid with paper money?……………mind boggling!

This is not just a sudden problem or a sudden complaint. If you note, the article dealt with the blind in business. Many states here in the US have vending programs which train and aid blind business people to get established in vending facilities. That is a cash business where lots of money is passed and changed. Problem is so idiots give a blind person a $1 and TELL them it is a $20. When you have 20 people in line to pay for stuff at your store, you don't have time to use a bill reader to confirm the denomination. This is not about blind people and their personal money, even though it is a problem to overcome personally. In business, it is a whole new ball game.

thats never been a problem in mexico. they never see any money anyways! wether they are poor blind or mute or prostitutes! and they get by.

Here we go again. Unelected judges making law. In this country, those that make laws are supposed to be responsible for their positions to the public by standing for election. Something really needs to be done about this sort of thing.
