Joe said" "hmmm, so race doesn't matter to the 90% of blacks that vote for Obama."
----------

Uhh, the DIFFERNCE is that pretty much all of those black voters have voted for a white candidate previously (and if the Clintons hadn't tried to frame Obama as a "black" candidate, Hillary would have retained more of the black vote) while many of these white voters probably would NEVER vote for a black candidate, no matter who it is.

Let's try to think a little more deeply next time.

But of course color doesn't matter at all to Black voters. No - wait....
Given that Mr. Obama is closely associated with a Black demogogue who preaches hatred for Whites I think color might be a valid concern here.
As much as people like to make this point, no one ever takes it anywhere. So he has an association with someone who has made controversial comments....what do you think that will cause him to do as president? Just what policies would be written (and passed by a mostly white congress) that would forward some kind of black agenda?

And I stand behind my comment that was removed by the moderator....the majority of Americans are ashamed of racist America.

My respect to Mike Rife who has the courage to support the candidate he wants despite the pre-1960 community he lives in.

Now I'm just a white Republican watching all this from the bleachers. But as I see it, there is little policy difference between Clinton and Obama. Obama's lack of experience is offset by Clinton's lack of credibility. We've never had an African American with enough widespread appeal to be elected president before, so I can understand why a black person would vote for Obama. I would think that having Obama as president would be a good thing for the black community in alot of ways. Besides, Obama is not the first Black person to run in a primary. Jackson, Sharpton and Braun ran and didn't get anywhere near the support from the black community that Obama got. And Obama will get alot of white support in November. I think this will be a very close election. Obama will get somewhere near 50% of the vote; not bad when only 12% of the voters are black. The other 50% would have voted for whoever the Republican is. Even if it was Colin Powell or Condi Rice.

It sad when people would prefer to deal with another four years of Bush Politics I have a saying ignorant people are afraid of change, you have an unjust war, gasoline prices are sky high, foreclosures are at a record pace and you whether vote for Mccain than vote for a Black Man or woman who may just Help us, some Americans are so blind and afraid it is scary, this country will destroy itself with prejudice, racism, sexism and arrogance, you have talent in all races America use this talent, donot hate someone because they are diferrent, we call other countries backward but in fact we are the ones who are backward.
Last time I checked the president wasn't supposed to be elected to "help us." I'm not a Bush fan or McCain supporter, either. I believe both parties have strayed too far from the Constitution, and now the voters are so fixated on geting whatever "help" they can from the government teat that they'll elect whoever promises them the most. For once can't we get a candidate that will stay within his/her Constitutional bounds?

I guess we're more interested in rock stars...

"It sad when people would prefer to deal with another four years of Bush Politics I have a saying ignorant people are afraid of change"

So you recommend change for change sake? That makes no sense. The question every voter should, but won't because of the ideological nonsense involved in this election, has to ask is: which candidate has the best chance of improving our situation?

Policy wise, Hillary and Obama are pretty much identical, so the question comes down to McCain vs Dem philosophy.

This trash article is merely a preview. Should McCain win, the media will endlessly bemoan the state of racism in this country. Votes for McCain will be clearly racist. Such votes could not have anything to do with Obama's pledge to play Robin Hood with taxpayer money by raising taxes on those that are successful and giving it to those who are less so, expanding government, and coddling mullahs.

Race, gender, age. The great divide the media does not want to talk about is age. Over 40 tend to vote for Hillary or McCain. Under 40 tend to vote obama. Older folks vote. We will see if young people turn out. By the time the fall rolls around it won't matter if obama is the nominee because he will lose. This is based on electoral college maps and state by state polls. Hillary, the polls and maps show, can win. Hillary can win. Obama will lose. Only Democrats can be so stupid not to see this. In the end it may not matter because obama scares people and is thus unelectable. He still needs to answer questions about his Islamic connections and lack of serious Christian church affiliations. His constant reference to himself as the Messiah says he thinks he is JESUS. Christians know that in the end-times a figure will emerge who is the anti-christ, but who claims to be JESUS the Messiah. When John Lennon said the Beatles were as popular as JESUS, there was a huge backlash. The reason obama will not win is because he insists on being treated as JESUS. Ironically he will be crucified in the fall by GOD- fearing Americans who take rightful exception to the CHRIST comparison. A real Christian would have understood that no one can compare themselves to JESUS CHRIST and get away with it. So the questions about obama's real religion persist, not because of the ignorance of the people, but because of the intelligence of real Christians and the ignorance of obama and his disciples.
I totally agree. Democrats have never fully understood Christians. Remember when John Kerry in his acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention in 2004 confused John 3:16 with John 16:3? Only Christian imposters make such obvious mistakes.

I want to see the alternate story...To Many Black Voters, Race Always Matters. Lets hear about the black guy in North Carolina driving around with a Hillary or McCain bumper sticker. Whites are much more likely, on average, to choose a candidate for reasons other than race. Blacks overwhelmingly vote for anything black first.

You do realize the difference in black people voting for someone they identify with and a white person not voting for someone because they are black. It takes a little critical thinking but work hard on it. Hate to tell you but he is as qualified as any other just because you don't want to believe it does not change the facts. You can disagree with his stance and that is opinion. But the reasoning being used in alot these posts about 90% of the blacks is 3rd grader reasoning and you know it so get over it.
The article deliberately ignored the motives of the black voters,so you are making assumptions about blacks voting for Obama on the basis of black identity. I wonder how many are voting against Clinton because she is white?

Frankly, I appreciate these people being honest. Campaigning in these places seems like it'd have been a terrible waste of campaign dollars.
So campaigning to white people is a waste of time and money? Only black people deserve candidates' time and money? RACIST!

There's no use it up, where's my wick card mentality. come up here to Cook county and see for yourself. ever see mexicans and whites bickering?
Yeah the Mexicans may like to work but they don't want to be here. Of course they are not going to bite the hand that gives them scab work. Too bad they are too dumb to vote in their OWN country and overturn the legislation instituted by the Mexican elite, that have made them so desperate, they have to hop the fence to come over here and make $10 an hour here instead of $10 a day in Mexico.
As far as the "wick" mentality, I've never waited around for any handouts, have any stray babies and make well above the median salary in chicago. Get your stereotyping straight fool.

Sorry, but the article is pure manipulation written with an agenda in mind. Why seek out the opinions of those who are motivated by race? To shame white people in other parts of the country into voting for Obama lest they be portrayed by the media as racist. That is just wrong.
It sounds to me like you're the one with an agenda. The article was written to point out a very real factor in this election. I'm originally from Kentucky and have heard racist **** all my life. Racism is alive and well and it is concentrated in certain parts of our country. That's the point of the article, that it's a major hurdle for Obama. If you feel ashamed for not voting for him because he's black (and you'll never admit that's why you won't - you probably don't even realize it) then good on you.

Oh please. How about this: if you can't state the Bill of Rights, then you shouldn't vote as you may not have beliefs that fall in line with the fundamental charter of this nation?
I love how most of these clowns who go on about flags, anthems, pins, pledges, and a bunch of other meaningless ceremonies and masquerades are often times the most IGNORANT of what, exactly and particularly, America stands for.
Anyone who places any significance to the flag above that of the Constitution and our rights really has a patriotic duty to not taint our democracy with a vote that stands contrary to this nation's fundamental principles.
It's important to the people in the 50 states I'm aware of. I can't speak for the other 7, no wait...1 more, than Alaska and Hawaii... 10 states he seems to think there are.

Leading choice for McCain's VP among republicans? Condi Rice. She's smart, well educated, and well spoken and whites will vote for those qualities regardless of race.
