An older white southern woman looks at Obama.
As an older white Southern woman, casting the most important vote of my lifetime, I look at Barack Obama and I see:
A young black man growing up with a single white mom and hard-working Kansas grandparents, overcoming obvious odds, committing his life to the “one nation indivisible” for which we Americans still strive.
A college graduate driving a beat-up car into neighborhoods of poor and jobless whites, blacks, and Latinos— listening to them, taking action, recruiting local churches to help in his mission of public service.
A public servant whose striking leadership qualities move to Washington, supporting the needed change of direction there, developing fresh ideas to fix a failing economy and health care and energy plans.
A leader who grasps the big picture in the many crises we face, just as he did in opposing the Iraq war from the beginning. A leader respected by our allies and other world leaders. A smart, tough guy who is willing to listen to and work with them before plunging headlong into another morally wrong and disastrous war.
I see him as the candidate most ready to follow Jesus' command to love one another.

Hard earned money would no longer belong to those who worked hard to get it because they would be paying astronomical taxes to Obama for him to "redistribute" the wealth! True, there would be no limit on what anyone can earn but as those earnings go up the penalties (ie high taxes) would go right up with the wages so what would be the point?

As one of the 'lucky ones' to make more than 250K, yet somehow "unfairly" only contribute 38% of the income taxes. I also happen to employ 32 Americans. I have to ask all of you Obama supporters two questions.

1. What amount above the current 38% contribution would you consider "fair"? By the current tax code, controlling 22% of the income while contributing 38% of the income taxes seems to be unfair as it is.

2. If when under an Obama administration, my taxes are increased, do you expect me to absorb the increase alone?

Here is a hint, NO WAY! These are some of the measures that I will be forced to entertain:

1. Reduce or eliminate benefits.
2. Decrease/freeze wages.
3. Slow growth.
4. Eliminate jobs. You will see a situation where employers are put in the position of hurting the people that Obama claims to care about.

I worked like an animal, sacrificed time with my children, begged and borrowed, risked everthing I owned, and I made it. As a result, 32 people are supporting their families and providing a future for them. All without a penny of assistance from government. The idea that there is enough money in the pockets of the "lucky" 5% to make up for the lost opportunities of the middle class is a cruel joke

Okay, there are over 300 million people in this country and the majority don't work for some small little company out in the woods. The big monopolies are taking out small businesses like yours except in niche areas. You still don't get it do you? When Barry increases wages on companies that make over $250,000.00 a year net that is most small businesses. I am convinced Obama will purposely destroy the american economy, striking a blow against capitalism, and throwing america into a depression.
