Romney Signs on to Anti-Gay Group's Campaign Pledge

Full story: EDGE

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has signed on to a campaign pledge created by the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage, a group that seeks to obstruct marriage equality and, in states where gay and lesbian families are legally allowed to wed, to roll family parity back.

it's not so much the attention they require, i can, and do, ignore that...it's the constant need to have "an enemy" i find more than a little disturbing.

Silly One, you didn't even read the headline.

Gay folks are sooooo fascinating and worthy of terror, that Romney felt the need to publically sign a pledge to harm them.

It's Romney demanding the attention as an avowed bigot, not the gay Americans he's pledging to harm.

And you didn't read it, either. The story isn't about anything any gay person has said or done.

It's about ROMNEY, who felt the need to sign a pledge to harm gay families and their kids.

I'm thinking that places him in the very category you are denying exists.

I have MAD respect for anyone, including Romney, who stands on his beliefs insteading of rolling over to bullish lobbyist. It's very difficult these days to find people who will publicly declare they will NOT be moved. A whole lot of people are against gay marriage as demonstrated by the gay movement's inability to get the voting public to sign on to it. They realized they had to strong arm the legislators to get it approved in the states that allow it. Mitt Romney has the backbone to put it in writing that he is against it. Whatever my personal opinion is on the matter, I respect anyone who says what he means and backs it up!

You really believe that politicians say what they believe? Boy, are you out of the loop. They say what they think will get them elected. Nothing more, nothing less.

And they will brush you aside like a gnat; they have no concern, but *none*, for how it's being perceived. This is exactly the equivalent of you, standing in a hospital: Your daughter is dying, and you can't get her medical care. Christ, how boring it is that we all have to listen to you crying and whining about your sick daughter.

That's how you just acted.

Honest to god, I find it incredible -- truly jaw-dropping -- that the pro-gay have had the restraint *not* to laugh at every single misfortune someone like you suffers. You have zero concern for their families, their lives and their *tiny children*: This is the big, big "conservative lie," that they care about families at all.

They care about the Nazi/Aryan families that fit the mold they want to force upon everyone. The "Jews" (in this case, gay people) are under every attack to strip them of their rights.

What's funny is that pundits have basically said Romney just kissed the presidency goodbye. Liberals *en masse* will do everything in their power to defeat him now. The ultra-conservatives

were WARNED

they were WARNED

to *stop* whining like pigs about social issues and focus on the economy, or it would jeopardize them in 2012.

Yet they're such obsessed dumbfucks that they can't shut their mouths and stop crying about it. And guess what? It's not going over well for them.

But what you'll do is lie to yourself about it -- and then spew hatred in 2012 when you see what happens. It's clear what's going to happen: The AVERAGE voter is concerned with the economy and I am seeing too many posts to COUNT online that say, "They've lost my vote," when they start up with this shit.

Please, please, please, DON'T see the truth; LIE to yourself. It will help defeat the ultra-conservatives in 2012, I *promise* you: Pundit after pundit is saying the same thing. Wait and see.

Oh, beliefs like Joe Smith being lead by the angel Moroni to some golden platters written in an alien script, buried in Upstate NY, that he translated with the assistance of a special hat, then sent the platters back to heaven? LOL. Oh yeah. I guess I disagree with you about one's beliefs especially those that are so ludicrous. How can anyone trust the judgement of someone that honestly believes this crap? It's delusional!!

Remember, Romney was pro-gay civil rights before he was against them. He was pro-choice before he was anti-choice. And his Massachusetts mandated health care system was the model for "Obamacare."

Romney is an opportunist, and will do/say anything to become the POTUS.

Just what I'd expect from a rich, white, job-killing, blow-dried, mormon, career politician.

Signing that pledge is not "taking a stand," it's playing a card to try and wrangle votes from radical right-wingnuts at the expense of real people and real families. That pledge is racist, sexist, extremist.

Anyone who would be president of America should know damn well that you don't put minority civil rights up for a popular vote. That's an insult and a direct attack on the Bill of Rights.

I can't wait till Romney takes the GOP primary and then makes the monumental error of tapping Michele Bachmann to be his VP running mate. John McCain was too addle-minded to see that Sarah Palin was dangerous by virtue of her stupidity. Romney is to ambitious to see what everyone else can see quite clearly--Bachmann is dangerous because she actually believes she is a righteous crusader for rich white "christians."

Romney, your mormon magic underpants will not save you from yourself.

This stupid pledge doesn't mean a damned thing. No one is going to get approval for such and amendment through Congress and even if they did its chances for passage are zero.

Political posturing is just that.

RINO in Mormon clothing. "If you don't stand up for something, you'll fall for anything." Romney's pathetic motto.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
