1 Absolutely. Some people are just fortunate to be thin. One of my daughters is like that; she's a slug, eats whatever she wants, and barely weighs more than a hundred pounds. I can smell her food and gain twenty. It's ridiculous. |

1 Shut up. Frankly, most 'welfare bums' had their children BEFORE (get that idiot, B E F O R E) they went on welfare. I would really like to call you some pretty damn nasty names right now, one that I wouldn't use in front of my children. Really getting tired of this BS about 'welfare bums' and everything else that people bring up about people who usually are only on welfare because REGULAR JOBS THAT THEY ARE QUALIFIED FOR AND ARE H A R D E R THAN HIGHER PAYING JOBS..... don't pay them JACK SQUAT. Raise the minimum wage to DOUBLE what it is now, and refuse to allow businesses to raise their prices...... and I bet you will see the welfare rolls almost DISAPPEAR, unless a person is physically disabled or SEVERELY mentally disabled. |

Hey, she just hit the genetic jackpot.... but really, something IS going on in America today. I was EXTREMELY underweight in middle/high-school, ate WORSE than I do now...... and I am overweight now. Maybe now that I am not drinking soy milk (which I think was causing most of my weight gain with the estrogen in it), I will lose some weight. |
I can only eat salad with meat and a light dressing. My husband eats anything and stays slim. People just don't get it and are mean and vindictive in their judgment of what they don't understand. |

And don't forget massively excessive intake of calories! |
If someone has been ill or injured, and is unable to do anything physical, that person isn't burning calories. They can't simply not eat anything- they'd starve. Even on a bare minimum diet, you still have to burn off the calories you take in, or you gain weight. It's as simple as that. |

1 How true. I was very thin and fit in my younger days; however, a couple of knee injuries and a broken foot completely sidelined me. Believe me, three kids and a desk job aren't conducive to weight control.:( |

NOT ME!
shooot. When you become overweight, just walking around is an exercise, so you might as well excercise a bit each day so you don't have to worry about that! |

1 That;s a great point, you can get a double cheese burger at McDonalds for a buck, see how many fruits or vegetables you can get for a buck at the grocery store. |

Just take a stroll into any Department of Motor Vehicles office, K-Mart or Wal-Mart. It's a freak show of obese females, most of which are welfare recipients.

If only it were that simple, the kid will waddle down the street to a friends house and continue that same behavior...Parents no longer interact, they have filled their lives with, go here, do that..They rely on electronic baby sitters... |

1 I paid $39.95 for my first power mower (1969) and used it for 5 years, then sold it for $30. Haven't spotted ONE kid in this community of 175 homes (200k to 250) interested in doing yard work. |

1 Isn't that the truth? When my husband had a serious motorcycle accident, I started looking around the neighborhood for a kid to cut the grass while he was in the hospital (four surgeries, two MRSA infections, several weeks in the hospital). I was always at the hospital or at work, and didn't have time to do the yard work myself. My kids were either in school or at work; the older ones had to take care of the youngest for me. Not only did I not find a local kid to cut the grass, not one of my neighbors even offered to help. One even called the city Housing Codes office to complain about our grass being too high! I mean honestly, my husband had almost lost his right arm and leg! I was either at the hospital or at work all the time. I ended up having to pay a fortune to a yard service, after I had tried to get it done myself. They did great work, but it was very expensive- and our lot is only a quarter of an acre! |

But then they would spread more STDs around, right? |
