1 - It takes effort to get your ass off the couch and make something happen - and just because you're hungry doesn't mean you have to eat ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... nothing worth having is easy (like a long, healthy life) |

This article is predicated on an assumption:
"..if the trends of the last 30 years hold up..." Experience tells us that a) American trends rarely last a generation. b) Smeone comes up with a counter-trend; and it sweeps the nation. Look for computerized, electrode enabled weight loss and muscle building technologies; à la "The Terminal Man." Look, also for new 'gene enhancing' practices such as the "SUPERMOUSE" variety. |

2 What does that have to do with weight loss? |
|
I am past 70, and have had no problem keeping to my ideal weight for at least 10 years, whereas during my working life doing so was far from easy. (I was sometimes 10 or 15 pounds above it.) I think it was because I could not make plenty of time for exercise and because the stress in my working environment was such that from time to time I used food as a buffer against stress, which is not a good idea.

I'm worried about my OWN body NOW rather than the rest of the country's physique 40 years from now. Burn more calories than you take in. There's no secret magic to it although I wish like hell there was!

We could all become "Vegies" like Charles Manson, Jim Jones, and Adolph Hitler! A hundred years from now I don't care what I weighed! Pass the spotted owl, please.

1 I mowed lawns, shoveled snow and biked two miles to the baseball field every day in the summer when it didn't rain. Kids today sit around on their lazy azz and fondle electronic gadgets/toys when they aren't at MY SPACE or searching for porn. |
|
yes. exactly. my son does nothing else but molest his xbox and look at the FACE BOOK for porn all day. |
