Bush approves execution of Army private

President Bush has approved the Army's request to execute a soldier convicted of rape and murder, the White House announced Monday evening.

Pvt. Ronald Gray has been on the military's death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, since 1988. His execution would be the first for the U.S. military since 1961, but the White House said it expects further appeals before the sentence is carried out.

Gray was convicted of raping and killing a female Army private and a civilian near his post at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was also convicted of the rape and attempted murder of another fellow soldier in her barracks at Fort Bragg.

HEY LAURA ..... Your hatred of the POTUS is only surpassed by your supreme stupidity. You are a sad POS who probably could NOT make a decision

Do you really think the POTUS found pleasure in making this decision???
What if it was YOUR daughter or Mom this POS raped and murdered? Aren't you glad you are barren?
Then again perhaps you FANTASIZE about being Laura Bush??

I hate to admit it but I am not sure execution is the answer. The man was a soldier, much more of one than our current commander in chief. Although in no way does it excuse his crimes, life in prison might be a smarter alternative. This man did serve his country and that deserves some kind of reward.

Justice Dept. Lawyers Join Chorus Criticizing Gonzales
July 28, 2007 http://tinyurl.com/33u45p
WASHINGTON, July 27 — Daniel J. Metcalfe, a lawyer who began his government career in the Nixon administration and retired from the Justice Department last winter, said morale at the department was worse under Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales than during Watergate.
John S. Koppel, who continues to work at the department as a civil appellate lawyer in Washington, wrote this month that he was “ashamed” of the department and that if Mr. Gonzales told the truth in recent Congressional testimony,“he has been derelict in the performance of his duties and is not up to the job.”
Even though they worry that it may hinder their career prospects, a few current and former Justice Department lawyers have begun to add to the chorus of Mr. Gonzales's critics who say that the furor over his performance as attorney general, and questions about his truthfulness under oath, could do lasting damage to the department's work.

Bush's lethal legacy: more executions
The US already kills more of its prisoners than almost any other country. Now the White House plans to cut the right of appeal of death row inmates...
15 August 2007 http://tinyurl.com/35zj8y
The Bush administration is preparing to speed up the executions of criminals who are on death row across the United States, in effect, cutting out several layers of appeals in the federal courts so that prisoners can be “fast-tracked” to their deaths.
With less than 18 months to go to secure a presidential legacy, President Bush has turned to an issue he has specialized in since approving a record number of executions while Governor of Texas.
The US Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales - Mr Bush's top legal adviser during the spree of executions in Texas in the 1990s - is putting finishing touches to regulations, inspired by recent anti-terrorism legislation, that would allow states to turn to the Justice Department, instead of the federal courts, as a key arbiter in deciding whether prisoners live or die.
The US is already among the top six countries worldwide in terms of the numbers of its own citizens that it puts to death. Fifty-two Americans were executed last year and thousands await their fate on death row.

Orchestrates 9-11? I thought what an idiot... but I see you are from San Francisco, nobody in the the other 49 states takes anything a San Francisco citizen says seriously. Your entire city needs to lay down on the sofa for treatment.

Now he not only gets the Karma for Iraq, he has added his Karma to ordering the death of an individual.

A 'pound of flesh' Old Testament mindset is contradindicated in one who proportedly expouses the New Testament principles. Thou shalt not kill, means even Presidents.
