This is an extremely informative and well-written column by the brilliant Mr. Sowell. Every voter should read it, and be informed of: "Fact Number One: It was liberal Democrats, led by Sen. Christopher Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank, who for years -- including the present year -- denied that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were taking big risks that could lead to a financial crisis. "It was Dodd, Frank and other liberal Democrats who for years refused requests from the Bush administration to set up an agency to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. "It was liberal Democrats, again led by Dodd and Frank, who for years pushed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans, which are at the heart of today's financial crisis."

This has been established a fact for a very long time. As well, it is also known that the Republicans were warning very sternly for years now that both Fannie and Freddie were in deep trouble with both their accounting AND lending practices and it was only a matter of time before a complete collapse of both. But, as usual their warnings fell on deaf Democratic ears and it was brushed aside. Well now that the crap has hit the fan all the Dems want to do is blame failed Bush Economic Policies for the last 8 years. Gee, what a surprise.

Mr. Sowell also draws the direct connection between Franklin Raines, who was one of those "managers" who drove Fannie Mae into the TOILET, and OBAMA and other DEM fat cats in congress. "Then there is the question of being against the "greed" of CEOs and for "the people." Franklin Raines made $90 million while he was head of Fannie Mae and mismanaging that institution into crisis. "Who in Congress defended Franklin Raines? Liberal Democrats, including Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus, at least one of whom referred to the "lynching" of Raines, as if it was racist to hold him to the same standard as white CEOs. "Even after he was deposed as head of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines was consulted this year by the Obama campaign for his advice on housing!"... "The tie between Barack Obama and Franklin Raines is not all one-way.****Obama has been the second-largest recipient of Fannie Mae's financial contributions, right after Dodd.****.... "But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America." I could not AGREE more vigorously!!! Please share this column link, or at www.townhall.com , with all voters you possibly can!

I'm going to post a couple of links next to at least 2 MUST READS about Obama and his "alliances." Keep up the good work. We must not let this country's constitutional principles go down forever, which I fear it may if Obama gets to appoint SCOTUS judges.

These are *must reads* for all who want to be INFORMED voters, and please share, forward, post links etc. to everyone possible: "The ACORN/Obama Voter Registration 'Thug Thizzle,'" by Michelle Malkin townhall.com/columnists/MichelleMalkin/2008/1... ? "Obama's Truth Deficit," by Maggie Gallagher townhall.com/Columnists/MaggieGallagher/2008/... Here are some excerpts of the latter--but definitely link and read the entire riveting column of this TRUE STORY of someone nearly killed by Obama's friend Bill Ayers. "'I remember my mother's pulling me from the tangle of sheets and running to the kitchen where my father stood. Through the large windows overlooking the yard, all we could see was the bright glow of flames below. We didn't leave our burning house for fear of who might be waiting outside,' wrote Murtagh in the April 2008 issue of the City Journal. "It wasn't personal. John's dad was a judge presiding over a trial of the Black Panthers. The next morning, after the bombs exploded, John still remembers the red graffiti on the sidewalk: "FREE THE PANTHER 21; THE VIET CONG HAVE WON; KILL THE PIGS." "To the best of John's recollection, Bernardine Dohrn, who is now Bill Ayers' wife, first claimed credit for bombing John's home -- along with other targets -- in November of 1970.... "Barack Obama was only 8 years old when Murtagh's house was bombed. Obama has nothing to do with the terror and the trauma John Murtagh and his family went through. "'It's a sensitive issue for us. My mom is still alive -- she's 83. She literally had to snatch her children out of the house in the middle of the night because her house was on fire,' John told me. ***"But Barack Obama was not a child -- he was a grown man -- when he decided his personal path to power and influence lay through Bill Ayers' connections.**** "In the Chicago establishment, which unfortunately embraced former domestic terrorists like Bill Ayers and his wife, Barack Obama was encouraged to look beyond the obvious -- John Murtagh, his family, their terror, the lawlessness, the attacks on policemen, judges, army outposts -- to embrace larger goals. "What were these goals? How does Barack Obama come to continue to associate with a man who cannot bring himself to say to John Murtagh or to John's mother or any other kin of the attacked:'I'm sorry. I was wrong. It was a terrible thing to do.'"... "Barack Obama's top political adviser is claiming Obama simply didn't know Ayers' history when they first met. Bomber? What bomber? "Right. "'If that's true, Obama has to be the dumbest man who ever graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School,' snorts Murtagh.'I don't buy that at all.'"... "'The night they attacked our home, they also firebombed an army recruiting station out in Brooklyn and police patrol cars outside of Greenwich Village,' notes Murtagh.'Three weeks later they accidentally blew themselves up. They intended to attack the officer's club at Fort Dix.'"... This friend and board colleague of Obama's, who skated from incarceration due to a prosecution technicality, to this day is UNREPENTANT for his TERRORIST BOMBINGS, and says only that "I wish I had done MORE!"

It's good to see serious, somber discussion about the upcoming Presidentia election. Let's see how many ways we can smear Obama -- He was on the same Board as Ayers -- spooky. He takes money from various groups and then promotes their interests -- ooh, he's the only politician that does that. Bush and his buds wanted to help the economy but the mean old Democrats wouldn't let him -- the Democrats have only controlled Congress for the past 21 months, after 12 years of Republican rule. Why didn't Bush save the economy when his party controlled Congress? Because he was too busy buying all the right wing looney bin votes with tax give aways that the country couldn't afford and a $10 billion a month war that should never have been started in the first place. Thank God that the brain trust on this discussion board has figured it all out -- blame the liberals

You MAY be right, but maybe NOT, IF we all do as much as possible to INFORM all those possible of some of these "facts" about Obama. I PRAY that you will be proven wrong on Nov. 5th, but meantime I'm going to do all I can to help people make a better, and *informed* choice.

Obama is the most RADICAL, Socialist person ever to get this close to occupying the white house. He has CLOSELY associated, from a young age and through recent years as he launched his political career, with radical AMERICA HATERS, such as William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. A man is *correctly* judged by the company he keeps. Barack Obama is a rich,*empty-suited* OPPORTUNIST, who believes in BLAMING AMERICA FIRST and is truly *dangerous* for this country's future. He also has absolutely *no accomplishments* for his few years in his state and our national legislature, EXCEPT feather his own nest and campaign in his personal avarice for *power.* If Obama ends up as POTUS, it will mainly be because MOST voters care *nothing* for facts, and are only moved by emotions and identity politics.

Wanna see a right-wing looney scamper for the shadows. LOOK OUT FOR THE LIBERALS!!! Don't mention the fact that just about every bit of progress that this country has experienced over the past 230 years has been as a direct result of liberals -- The American Revolution, The Abolition of Slavery and the development of civil rights, advances in the sciences and just about every other field has been lead by liberals. What are conservatives good for -- well I guess someone has to be the bad guy. Judging people by who the associate with -- like McCain and Charles Keeting? McCain's accomplishments -- well he is pretty good at crashing planes -- he's done that four times. He's good at dumping his wife for a rich drug addict. Yea-- and look at how good he is at picking subordinates -- Sarah is ne brilliant choice for VP. OMG

Gee, Big Dave, at least give Lincoln credit for abolishing slavery. The democrats didn't want to do it. They liked their slaves to do their work for them. You have to admit Obama's friends are a little suspect. Ayres, Farrakhan, Wright, all anti-Americans. His association with ACORN.
