Lieberman snub comes as little surprise

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, who political pundits believed was one of three likely running mates for Republican John McCain, was passed over Friday in favor of a hockey mom from Alaska.

I guess "snub" in the headline is more interesting than digging deeper.
According to a televised report, Chris Shays, who was interviewed on camera (and supposedly in this article) spoke as to how he was in the room with McCain and Lieberman and stated it was Lieberman who told McCain he would not be the right choice.

It's obvious when Dixon and Urban wrote this article they have chosen Barrack Obama to make such an ignorant comment about Susan Palin. When will the news be writtten how it is suppose to without byass? And to all news reporters what makes you think your opinion hold any weight to what the world thinks? It's obvious your opinions only hurt the credibility of everyone involved including yourselves. Do your job, report the facts not your feelings!

Dixon and Urban is what is wrong in today journalism. We see how the Post operates. That's going around in all the States today. The people are getting fed up with liberal writers who write the way they feel instead of keeping an open mind.

I couldn't agree more with the other comments. That is why I have NOT subscribed to the post for over two years now. The media is OUT of TOUCH with the majority of the citizens. Very few of us really rely on the objectivity of the media. Your credibility continues to sink, you should begin looking for another job. How about officially joining the Obama campaign then you would at least be honest about where you stand!!

With all the animosity against Joe Lieberman, it is not the kind of baggage that McCain needs.

However, choosing a real featherwight like Palin will be worse. Can anyone believe that the people will be happy with Palin as president, if McCain checks out?

She would certainly be anybody's "good friend" - but president ?????????

Forget the "snub", McCain's choice reeks of desperation. I thought having so-called experience was meant to give one good judgement. His judgement and hence his supposed valuable "experience" seems to me to be completely useless. Sarah could be President of the U.S. in a year or two.(God forgive us).

Lieberman is still not getting what he really deserves - the label of "traitor", writ large on his forhead - and a one way ticket to Israel.

Obama as a black man has a higher risk of cancer and heart disease than McCain. So don't go gloating about health. McCain is fine and has good family history of health, his Mom is 97 and his father dies at 70 in a military airplane crash. Obama has cancer in his family, his Mom died at 53 from cancer. Obama is more of a health risk if this is the road you are going down.
As for the featherweight comment, Palin is tough as nails and can do battle with the good old boys like she has been doing since she was elected. Pretty face and a fierce competitor.

Does Obama's 143 days of experience out weighs Palin's years of experience? I don't get how Obama's people are citing lack of experience?

Senator Lieberman has supported McCain on the "experience" factor. Will no one call him out on that issue now that McCain has stunningly removed experience as having any thing at all to do with this campaign? Joe Lieberman needs to produce a more meaningful statement than this. According to Joe this campaign was all about national security, now nothing. Shame Joe, shame, shame. You have proved yourself to be neither a honest broker or an an independent. You are a simple little panderer now with nowhere to go. To continue to support this ticket and speak at this convention shows that you didn't really mean those things when you said them.

Lieberman didn't want to be on a losing ticket twice and thus declined.

How can it be a "SNUB"?

Merriam Webster: "to treat with contempt or neglect?"...editor asleep at the wheel as usual.

No one (with half a brain) thought Lieberman was a rational choice. Although it gave the local SUBSTANDARD print media something to write about.

Another one from a paper full of hack writers.

This is the drivel that AP teachers show to students in the "How not to Write" segment of the class. Although it is fun to read because its just so awful.

But just how well versed is she on history, world affairs, economics, and the myriad of current national issues. "Tough as nails" and a "pretty face" is a "negative" unless it is backed up by knowledge and experience.

I think that Palin is a well intentioned "driven person" who has been conned by McCain into thinking that he can provide her with a short cut to national poitical "success".

I saw her on a recent re-play of an earlier C-SPAN interview where she indicated total disbelief that she would be considered for McCain's V.P.

But of course, she has nothing to lose, but much to gain, by accepting McCain's dumb offer. She undoubtedly understand the shallowness of McCain's con. It's only McCain who needs his head examined.

I love it!

You didn't really answer my question. As a person who knows that evangelicals have an agenda, do you think that Palin is one of them?
