Did you know that 7% of the population is responsible for almost 90% of the crimes committed? I have some rather distant cousins in W.Va and our family still owns some land there....way back and up in the mountains. So far back, you make your own road as you go. There's a cabin there. No power, but we won't want it and may not have it anyway, if the government uses that to control us. Plenty of coal for heat, if push comes to shove and we can live in a mine if we have to. Plenty of land to grow food on. The people there are all very self-sufficient and know how to can and so forth. I remember my great aunt telling me they used to salt down meat and keep it as long as they wanted to on a table in a back room. I also have an old book from the 1800s here that I bought at a flea market. I refuse to sell it because if things get rough it'll come in handy. In part, it tells us how to make lots of things I never thought of having to make. For example, there's a way to keep eggs for a year, without refrigeration. As for food, if I have some flour,salt and baking powder, I have food. I am an old country girl who still remembers how to make some pretty good biscuits and gravy. It won't be fancy, but it'll keep me alive! lol Spring water runs right out of the hills there; cleaner than anything you'll drink up north! lol I've already talked to my son and told him what some people believe is going on and what he should do and not do if things get ugly...and the more I learn, the more I believe they will.

The majority of illigal immigrants are from Mexico. It doesn't matter what race these people are. Illegal is illegal and they should be deported. Through the years, immigration has always been controled in the US for good reasons. The problems we now face because of uncontrolled illegal immigration is a perfect example of why those laws were made. All countries have immigration policies and laws. All enforce them. History is good for legal precedent, but not for much else. Today can never be yesterday. Yes, people have all kinds of mixed blood, especially in America. That's one of the reasons our country is great. The rotten politicians and the corporations that control our media feed us propaganda to stir us up against each other - race, religion, politics, etc., but they generally don't touch illegal immigration, because they want that to happen. The North was 'stupid' enough to build an industrial nation without resorting to slavery. Later, as big businesses gained power, immigration was a good source of cheap labor to bring wages down. So that's nothing new today, except the quantity now flooding our economy.

I haven't grown anything since my kids grew up and left home. I do have some tomatoes and peppers this year so I don't have to buy them from mexico!:-)) But I grew up growing gardens; it was a necessity in our family, so I can do it again! What else do I need to know that I don't already?
