Mexican executed after appeal denied in Texas

Mexican national Jose Ernesto Medellin has been executed by lethal injection, according to Texas prison officials.

Corrections spokeswoman Michelle Lyons said Medellin died at 9:57 CT.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied the last-ditch appeal of a Mexican national on Texas' death row late Tuesday, paving the way for him to be executed for a pair of brutal slayings, state corrections officials said.

Great news. Once again Texas sets the example. However, it would have been preferable to have destroyed this savage much earlier. The money saved could have been contributed to the victims families.

To those who wonder why killers get 15-20 years of appeals before justice is rendered: judges and lawyers DON'T WANT IT. Trials, mis-trials, re-trials, endless appeals are their meal tickets. They have a lifetime of guaranteed income processing these worthless pieces of crap that should be executed within six months. Oba Carr murdered a mother and two daughters in Florida 20 years ago and that son of buzzard puke is still enjoying TV and whatever else in the prison system.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the practice of capital punishment, but as "God's Warrior", shouldn't you be concerned about preserving life no matter how guilty since theoretically by accepting Jesus into their heart they can be forgiven? An eye for an eye sort of went out with the old testament.

Justice was done. He showed no mercy for his victums.

Too bad for his sake Pelosi was busy "saving the planet". She might have saved his butt since she loves killers/terrorists and thinks they should have the rights of Americans.

I'm not a big fan of the death penalty, but considering his crimes this guy deserved it as much as anybody ever has. This is also a message to all foreign nationals with bad intentions: do not come to our country and rape and murder our citizens, because we don't care where you're from, you will be punished to the full extent of the law just like any American citizen would be for the same crime. Foreigners should not not get special privileges if they commit crimes in America.

In my opinon, the death penalty should be enacted on all perpetrators of violent crime/murders that have honestly been proven guilty.

He!l with this crap of keeping them alive and living better than many of our less fortunate US citizens that have not broken any laws - especially if the f'ck ups murder or are a part of any of the many other serious crimes these scumballs commit with regularity.

Just my opinion.

Exactly. What if an American (or Mexican, for that matter) raped and killed women in Iran, for example? They'd have him swinging in the gallows within a few months. Heck, they'd do that for much lesser crimes, like drug dealing or even apostasy to Islam. The same is true in a number of other Muslim nations. I've heard in Saudi Arabia a large portion of the inmates they execute are foreigners.

I swear to god that you're planted by conservatives to give liberals a bad rap. If not, you're a complete idiot.

Not only is this completely off-topic, but it could have been said about a million times more eloquently than what you managed.

Also, you misspelled Cheney. That's horrible.
