Therefore I got an education, not opinion shoved down my throat. man it's nice to be able to think for one's self.

I must admit, the Michael Vick debacle is what has thrown me over the edge. If they have no problem with a man who is a millionaire, who could enjoy any entertainment he chose, and he chose to starve, torture, fight, electrocute, drown, hang, and beat dogs to death for over 6 years for his FUN, then there is definately something wrong with their capacity to empathize and consider the horror another innocent living thing suffers by the hands of a human being, EXCEPT FOR THEIR OWN. And I don't mean their own race, their personal own. Their defense of this monster has certainly affected my perception of the black race as a whole, caused me to look around the world and take note of black's behavior in society everywhere. Not of what the black race may have done 100 years ago, but what the majority of the black race is capable of and how they are behaving today. The Michael Vick episode is probably an example of African Americas circling the wagons. We aren't right all the time, in fact we aren't right many of the times because racism is usually about perspective and just because white Americans do what may appear to be racist to us doesn't mean that they had racist intent. America has screwed us so many times that it's hard to see fact from fiction. Put together long strectches of trustworthiness and we'll stop seeing ghost. But when you claim with such a passion that all is well when you know damn well it aint then you get a people who bark at every shadow. Its a defense mechanism and nothing more. I can understand if they have no love for dogs or cats or any other companion animal. Each to his own. But if you don't like them, then JUST DON'T HAVE ONE. As for blacks resenting so many whites who fight for the rights of animals, they should consider this. That animal will never grow up and have the ability to choose what type of life it makes for himself. Companion animals are dependent on us for their entire well being. In return, they give us unconditional love and loyalty. To repay that by pulling their teeth without anestesia pain killer, to put them in a rape stand for other vicious dogs to breed them, to hang them if they won't fight and to hold their head in a bucket of water to drown IF they survive the hanging, to steal people's pets out of their back yards to hang by their hind legs with their snouts taped closed for vicious dogs to maul, someitmes taking days for the poor pet to succumb to the relief of death, is reprehensible. It would seem, considering what we read in books in regard to how slaves were treated, blacks would have more compassion for the innocent helpless animals who suffer abuse and death at the hands of their owners. I appreciate your honesty however. At least you stated the obvious, that the majority of blacks could care less about the welfare of an animal. Even to the extent mentioned above, the abuse and torture of an innocent animal, they couldn't care less about. One poster in another forum said that he could care less if his neighbor skinned his dogs alive, it was his dogs. That scares me. As for the rest of your post, kudos. Very good insight, whether I like it or not, I appreciate your honesty, as I do recognize the truthfullness in what you say here.
