No, it won't lower the price because it costs too much per barrel to pump. Cheap sources of oil are hard to find. I say pump it anyway, it's not gonna hurt and I'd rather see the money stay in country, but it's not going to lower the price by any wide margin.

I agree. Technology has advanced to the point that drilling for oil offshore is safer than running a nuclear power plant. We will do it eventually as oil is a finite resource, the demand is ever increasing, and there is no cheaper alternative energy source to compete. Oil prices will continue to rise regardless if we have offshore drilling or not.

Hate say it, But Cinderella is probably serious as the evil stepmother. She is most assuridly from Never Never Land. I lived in Capitola for awhile, just this side of Santa Cruz, and between the "No Hate" ordinance and the city sign declaring it to be a nuclear free zone, it was by far the most interesting place on the coast, nuts, but interesting.

NPR is de riguer, and Obama is seen as a compromise candidate, although a little too conservative for most.

Vitually all the city council is loaded for the meetings, which can, understandably, rarely make a quick decision.

I agree and we could began to pay off the war debt and rebuild our infra-structure. We could bring the troops home, set up temporary bases on the border from Brownsville to the Pacific.
