I wonder why the protesting students in Novato and at CSU and U.C. aren't more upset by this? Do they think that a million illegals, 10 million? can compete with them for resources and seats and there not to be money shortages, conflicts and problems? OK, so a few are there, no harm. Then 10 per school, then 100. How many is too many? The multiculturalista handwringing grant sucking Marin dwelling diversity loving "activists" won't examine this issue, let alone even acknowledge it. They'll say "all students deserve a good education". But at our expense? From all over the world? Where do you draw the line Jim?

Assemblywoman Mimi Walters, a Republican from Oceanside, said the bills announced Tuesday are partly intended to put pressure on Democrats who control the Legislature.

She said illegal immigrants cost California taxpayers an estimated $9 billion each year.

----------

ILLEGALS cost TAXPAYERS an estimated 9 BILLION dollars a year in California alone.

Deport ALL the ILLEGALS and the United States would save untold BILLIONS in taxpayer funds each and every year.

Pete, I agree, let's fix US foreign policy that creates conditions in foreign countries that create economic and political refugees. Lets address the root causes of the problem and identify ways to serve the American interest with those already here adding to our society. Let's not cut of our noses to spite our faces.

Oh Pete, who are those republican farmers in the Central valley who are hiring all these people you speak of? Do you think there might be some double standards within this debate? Wink wink!

Besides the biggest problem we face in relation to funding schools is the misappropriations of funds being spent on the bogus "war on terror". We the people need to create a "War on Errors" and impeach all those for lying us into this three trillion dollar debacle.

Let the CA republicans play their games with the economy (like BUSH and cronies), but the problem we face is not from productive workers from other countries, the problem is the immigration system that doesn't serve the needs of America. Reform the system, fix US foreign policy and stop exporting tape-worm economics via NAFTA and CAFTA.

Ted, we agree!
You must have read my post wrong. We should not be meddling in other countries, that is my whole point... We agree can you believe that? Boy, am I excited now.

I don't want to spend your tax dollars screwing up other countries economies. I don't spend your tax dollars so the Military can have 130 bases worldwide. I don't want our tax dollars subsidizing our Corporate Corn growers who flood the Mexican markets with cheap corn forcing Mexican famers to flee their farms for survival. The U.S. needs to stop meddling in other countries business.

Just think Ted, now they want to spray us with Light Brown Apple Moth plasticized pheromones because of some silly trade agreement. No thanks, stop the spray! Stop making economic and political refugees.

All that international meddling stuff does is increase economic and political refugees that need to come here to escape the US induced persecution.
Damn Ted, I'm glad we see eye to eye on this subject. Stop the persecution, let America be America once more!

Viva the evolution, you've come a long way!

Aug 11, 2007: Marin Minutemen
Larkspur California
The Chapter of the Marin Minutemen has met twice at the American Legion on Ward St. in Larkspur CA.. Their most recent meeting was Aug 11, 2007. Marin residents are being duped into joining this group thinking they are getting into a pro "American" protect our borders group, which is the furthest from the truth. The sales pitch sounds nice during the presentation, until their code is interpreted into plain English. Once you understand the jargon you'll know they have been studying the Karl Rove book of Orwellian Double speak.
The Minutemen Dictionary –
code words interpreted
1. neo-cons = Jews (they are anti-Semite Jew haters and holocaust deniers)
2. Communists = Progressive Democrats, Democrats, Green Party, peace and justice groups, The Catholic Church, The Methodists Church and pretty much everybody who disagrees with their dogma.
3. Goons = Latinos or anyone from the opposing side who has the nerve to challenge and disagree with their racism and scapegoat tactics.
4. Anchor Baby = a derogatory term referring to an American Born Citizen (another racist “them vs us” reference)
5. Operation Wetback = referring to the past scapegoat tactics in this country during the 1950s
6. Invasion = refers to the waves of refugees fleeing US instigated oppression; coming from economically ruined countries including Mexico, Central America and South American regions. Also includes those being oppressed by US supported puppet dictators and US trained military death squads.

As California's economy sinks, and Citizens are expected to pay greater tolls, high gas prices, switch to poisonous light bulbs, watch our healthare standards sink, deal with ever more TB and imported infectious diseases, endure potholes and shoddy, failing infrastructure, it is was past time to identify and deport illegals and their children. We can not afford them, and are being squeezed out of our own land, and brought down to third world quality of life, as they overwhelm us. Even progressives need to understand, we are losing the open-borders battle, and no one is immune from the devastating impacts. We have a duty to help our own vulnerable. We are on a sinking ship, and cannot take on more passengers.

everything it can to create an Illegal Mexican Nation
within the borders of the USA!
Aiding, abetting and even urging their people
to illegally emigrate to the USA,calling them

Those who rant against the illegal immigrants of today are the philosophical descendents of those who put NINA "No Irish Need Apply" on Help Wanted signs more than a century ago. We are a nation of immigrants legal and illegal, from the first wanderers to cross from Siberia, now called "Native Americans" to the wetback who crossed the Rio Grande yesterday. Please note that this "Mick" means nothing derogatory by "Wetback". These people take enormous risks to participate in the American Dream. Does any one know how to get a work visa for a field hand or gardener? NAFTA and CAFTA have flooded Mexico and Central America with cheaper American corn among other things making it almost impossible to make a living as a dirt farmer South of the Border. Carlos Slim is only the richest of a slew of Mexican Billionaires exporting their poor to U.S. What a mess. Ron Who? has said some of this but he is "Not fit to Print"

Farmers and landscapers can hire immigrants on temp. work visas. I know of many who do it. Food service and Hospitality also have temp. visas available. Do some research. There are many Mexicans, Central and South Americans who are waiting to come to the U.S. and work LEGALLY, but, are beaten out by those who don't want to follow procedures.

That pretty well sums up why I retired to another state after 60 years of watching California slowly go down the tubes..It isnt difficult to research where California stood in the nationwide stats on education, infrastructure, violence, etc etc etc, 30 years ago and compare with the modern day stats..

What you say about our being a nation of immigrants, both legal and illegal, is very true...The difference between then and now is that people came here to assimulate into this society, to become Americans...Read the posts in this and other forums and you cant help but see that is no longer the case...

I think San Rafael should build a pedestrian walk over from the canal to Loch Lomond and Peacock Gap for worker convenience. That's a long walk past Montecito.

So Indyeast, tell me are you a racist or do you want to fix the US foreign Policy that causes the refugees to come here? Oh, why do your posse always like to label people? If I'm a socialist, what are you? How do you see yourself in this big picture?

You must have liked the glossary. I nailed it, didn't I? At least I nailed it for the Marin Chapter of the Minuteklan.

Why do you people always assume that the current group of immigrants do not want to assimilate? That is incorrect. All the ones I know and see are working hard, taking English classes, paying taxes, going to college, buying homes and assimilating very well.

Why do you like branding people with distorted lies and untruths? Try playing nice, after all it is an American value, which might help you assimilate better into our way of life here in the United States.

Jim- you SO need to get out more!
The world has changed since your last look.
Immigration is a criminal enterprise now and it's all about the money.
Being "nice" shouldn't include condoning theft and criminal activity.

This is not 100, 150 or 200 years ago.
Our schools are all being dumbed down where illegal immigrants show up. Proof... check out the test scores nation wide and see the demographics of the low scoring districts. Where there is a high proportion of Hispanics the scores are usually sub standard. Why? They teach in Spanglish. There should be a minimum requierment that new students be fluent in English. Like our kids would have to be if they went to a public school in any other country.
