Romney on jobs numbers: 'Hammer blow' to middle class

Aug 3, 2012 Full story: www.politico.com 44

Mitt Romney , responding to today's July jobs numbers at a campaign event in Las Vegas, said the 8.3 percent unemployment rate is an example of President Obama 's "extraordinary record of failure." "It's another hammer blow to the struggling middle-class families of America," he said, per POLITICO's Ginger Gibson, stressing that this is "the ... (more)

You are most correct, Mr Romney.
Obama has an undeclared war on the middle class in America. Everytime I see his campaign commercial about "Obama for the middle class" I want to throw my remote at my TV. You are MOST CERTAINLY NOT for the middle class, Mr Obama, you seem deadset to make the middle class descend into poverty as the numbers of poor in the USA are rising above the numbers way back in the 1960's.
The unemployment numbers that came out today, 8.3% is unacceptable. What little Obama has done is been a disaster.

Is this the "change" you promised 4 years ago?

Like romney cares about the middle class? You always post this republican garbage but most don't buy it. Keep it up, it's a free country, but romney in december can continue his ripping the middle class by taking jobs to China. Typical republican thou, wants slave labor to keep him and his in a castle. When most of Americans relatives came over from Europe and England some who are our modern day republicans brought the Dukes and Barons DNA over with them. Most of us are content with a nice size well built home but the some think they are entitled to grab everything in site and let the majority live in near poverty. They pay off Congressmen to make the tax structure in favor of them. Up untill the 1980's these wealthy provided jobs, now they took down the tariff tax that taxed goods coming in from overseas. Americans cannot work for 2 dollars a day but do they care? Hell NO! GREED GREED GREED. I believe if Obama gets another 4 years these super greedy will have to pay for all their covetess nature. Go get, make um scream like the Pigs they are. It WILL happen, I can't wait to see ole Jims responce when his heros crash and burn.

This is complete BS, more jobs have been lost overseas under Obama than any other President. Wonder why un-employment is so high.
Just like the first poster wrote, poverty numbers are higher now then they have been in 50 years.
No one works for 2 dollars a day in the USA.
Maybe you should seek mental health help.

No, don't ignore. Refute what they say. Obama cannot run on anything, all he can do is go negative and sling mud at Romney.
Even Jon Stewart on the "Daily Show" blasted Harry Reid (Obama's lapboy in the Senate) for his appalling lack of decency in slinging mud at Romney.

Jon Stewart is an idiot. He's not even really funny.
Look I voted for Obama and I agree he has been a major f-ck up.
Some Obama supporters I know and even some on here say "Romney is this, Romney does that" yet cannot point to any examples or any condemning evidence.
Between Obama and Romney, as an independent, I am most certainly going to vote for Romney.
If you took away all party affiliations from politicians, Obama would have been ran out of DC a short while back for his inability to do anything positive, contrary to his campaign promises.

I am a independent. I vote for the person and not the party.
Obama has failed at his job and should be fired. Between the two men, Romney and Obama, Romney is by far the best choice for America and American business.
If you disagree with me, please just explain why.

Everyone at work this morning was talking about the unemployment numbers that came out last Friday.
It seems that Obama is content to just campaign to get a shot at another 4 years and play golf.
The few Obama supporters left in my office are puzzled why he doesn't do anything, it's hard to blame the house and senate when you yourself have no ideas or plans for anything.
I think Obama is just going through the motions because he knows he is going to lose by a historic margin this November.

I have to admit that although I'm no fan of Romney, that I really wonder if given four more years if I can depend on Obama to, if not actually repair the mess George Bush left him, to even begin to make progress towards recovery?

I have to note that even Bill Clinton, proven to be one of the most successful of recent presidents, came very close to outright endorsing Romney... food for thought.

Of course, I've already gone on record that I won't be voting for either one of those guys, but will be going for third party candidate Gary Johnson... although there's zero chance he'll win, I feel we need to begin strps in building a valid third party in America a.s.a.p. since obviously the two parties we have both have let us down... if not worse than let down.

Obama has trashed the economy, no two ways about it. He has been at the head of the biggest decline of America.
I enjoy reading all the stupid idiots who try to pin this on Bush. I guess if they say it long enough they think it will be true.
This is Obama's mess, all of it.

Bush began the decline, only witless Republicans with self-inflicted amnesia deny this.

In fact Bush having caused the slide in the economy was /the/ reason Obama was elected to begin with, since Obama promised to fix it while McCain promised to give us "more of the same" of the George Bush fiasco.

You are exactly right, the dense crowd just don't get it. They are Obama's sheep. Obama started this stupid blame game right from the start and all his little stupid brainwashed minions followed right along...see you got a couple here too, LOL
Everything was fine when Bush was President, Obamie took over and blew up the economy.
I know some people who thought he did it to try and get everything to collapse so we would have a revolution like the Russians did and change our government to a communist one with him as the head.
Four years ago I woulda thought this was all nonsense but now its starting to make sense.
Obama did everything he could get away with to wreck the economy, he isn't dumb so maybe he did wreck the economy on purpose.

Obama seems to have taken on a job he wasn't suited for... after all, George Bush was so inept he left a mess that was going to be difficult even for a pro.

Obama got in over his head almost immediately and apparently decided he'd focus on other problems.

So the George Bush fiasco remain, bigger than ever, four years later.

I have noticed many who blame Bush for all this but I remember plainly that this decline got really severe after Obama was elected.
I did not like Bush but not because of his economic policies. I ask these people what exactly Bush did to destroy the economy and have yet to get an answer, but republicans can name numerous things that Obama did to destroy the economy.
So, readers, name what Bush did to cause this 4 year long economic disaster that Obama cannot seem to correct?

Well it will be all over but the crying soon, until then I hope romney's greed gland continues to be exposed and the media keeps slamming the republican party. Only the 32% republican voters will remain upset, all we 68% non-republicans don't mind a bit.

That's one of my favorite topics, Commando, although I rarely find anyone who seems capable of discussing it intelligently and calmly... no offense, but intellect isn't exactly a Republican strong suit.

I've been writing about this for a few yars now, so rather than immediately repeat myself once again, since most Bush defenders tend to go away without responding once the facts begin to be exposed to daylight and modern times, here's mostly where it began, a run-down of what George Bush himself was left with, and the fact that he trashed all the progress made in the Clinton era.

Then we can take it from there:

https://groups.google.com/forum/... #!topic/alt.politics/DZqk6okjU D8

Exactly... that's how Obama came to be elected in the first place,
since in comparison with how Clinton left Bush and the way Bush
wrecked practically every bit of progress in eight years, the voters
decided they'd had enough of the Republican fiasco. Nobody, certainly
not Obama, ever claimed undoing the mess would be easy. Not at all...
Bush left a mess for the people who have to follow him to try to
fix... in this case, Obama. As a President George Bush was simply
inept, and he was too much of a stubborn dullard to think on his feet
and make changes in strategy when they were needed. "Mess" may not be
the proper word, maybe it is. I often notice these forgetful moments
when supporters of folks like Bush come up. I suppose I need to run
through a short reminder of how Bill Clinton left the situation (for
the popularly elected Al Gore, btw) and where things went during the
George Bush eight years... 1.) Economy: Good 2.) Wages: Up 3.)
Poverty: Down 4.) Unemployment: Down 5:) Housing: Up 6:) Crime: Down
7.) Stock Market: Up 8.) World: At Peace At the end of the Bush term
all the above eight points were pretty much at the opposite extreme...
Bush's "mess" does seem about right, after all. A fouled-up situation
like Bush left Obama will quite rightly take a number of years to set
right... and no one was under the delusion it would be an easy thing
to fix, the mess Bush made.-- Will Dockery 9-30-2011
