Dow falls below 9,000 as stocks extend declines

I have been ranting on this for the last three years and only today did a close friend actually apologize to me for the ridicule he poured on me during such discussions, to date he has lost $275K in his 401K

All this means is BUSH will have to spend trillions more to bail out what he messed up.

Mean time Exxon gets a tax break and we spend billions in the Middle East.

Germany isn't such a shining star itself, so don't get too cocky. What happens in our economy affects the global market, so be careful what you wish for.

With no money to spare for the American auto industry, it's lights out. It was just recently that GM suspended health care to it's retirees over the age of 55. Now, it looks like they may lose their pensions as well.

Billionaires and millionaires won't feel the effects of this bloody implosion as much as average Joe working class citizen. You can count on THAT!

I've lost quite a bit myself, even though I have been staying out of the market lately. This whole mess was caused by too much cheap credit. And what do they do - throw 700 billion more at it. Regulation is the cause of this mess, not the cure.

And why are we opening up the credit to every bank, even the ones that participated in the credit profiteering? This article has an interesting perspective on which banks deserve to participate in the package:

You need help, do you think if the inocent people of Germany were in the same same we would be rolling in glory?? Not!!!

Understanding this could have been avoided but not much us average folks could have done to stop it.
