Since your copy is upstairs, I will cite the relevant words: "Congress shall make no law repecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
Congress has made no such law, and there is no prohibition of exercising one's religion. We differ sharply on what the amendment means.
We also differ just as strongly on Obama's performnce. Considering the deep hole left to us by Bush, I think Obama has done a remarkable job in preventing a full scale economic depression. In his three years of service to this country, Obama has had numerous other accomplishments, most of which I fully support. Perhaps you would care to explain in detail how Obama's tenure has been "one long nightmare".
On another matter, I think the first amendment was in some ways shortsighted. It fails to consider the possibility that my "religion" could demand that its members kill their firstborn. As the amendment stands, government would have no legal right to stop me. The point is that if one's religion encroaches on the freedoms of others, government should have the right to intervene. The case under discussion serves as an example, in my opinion.
However, the argument may have become moot. The compromise reached earlier today seems to have settled the matter to the satisfaction of both the administration and Catholic leaders. obammy is a fool and doesn't know a thing about the economy. Community organisers don't know anything about economies. They only know how to rebel rouse.

Our great leader has more worries than just religions! Now my brown skin brothers are saying they won't vote for him either as he lied when he said they would have a pathway to citizien ship. I have told them Obama has been very busy the last four years but I am sure it is at the top of his agenda when he is relected.
