After Obama speech, how will Pa. respond?
Just as the 1960 West Virginia primary was the decisive contest for John F. Kennedy in his quest to win the Democratic nomination for president, the April 22 Pennsylvania primary this year is shaping up as the ...

Is this a joke? Obama infuriates a lot of whites at this point. Only a black would get away with a 20 year relationship with a racist anti-American hate monger and still be a candidate. Tell me this: would Clinton or McCain even still be in the race if they were aligned with a white hate monger? Of course not, Obama should not be allowed to give a speech and have the "audacity" to call for racial healing after associating with a racist/seperatist. Disgusting.

Nice speech…who wrote it?
People need to focus on Sen Obama’s actions…not his words. Reason why conservatives & republicans LOVE HIM is because he VOTES on major issues like they do-against the middle class. see vote analysis. Sen Obama cares about poverty and the middle class? He is neither racist nor Anti-american. He asks America to face up to its shame-that equal rights for all American Citizens is less than fifty years old.
The shame is Bill's and JJ's. Obama's speech was brave, and onest. It's possible to move forward from the entreched positions expressed by Bill and JJ. if Americans is prepared to open their hearts. |

I think Obama is the victim of a racial hatred. I believe, if he fails to confirm the nomination after these racial odds and even after leading to date in terms of popular votes, pledged delegates, and the number of states he won, the America will be devided nastily, a devision that can't be healed in near future, a devision which is not that worthy at the time when America is struggling with its Foreign Policy, its Economy and its credentials to the rest of the world... and if it becomes domestic mess, America will colapse, surely

jj newman, it's ignorant fools like you that make people think Texas is a backward state. Frank Schaeffer, son of the powerful religious leader, Francis Schaeffer, recently penned these thoughts. "When Senator Obama's preacher thundered about racism and injustice, Obama suffered smear-by-association. But when my late father denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government, he was invited to lunch with Presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush, Sr.....Take Dad's words and put them in the mouth of Obama's preacher (or in the mouth of any black preacher) and people would be accusing that preacher of treason. Yet when we of the white Religious Right denounced America, white conservative Americans and top political leaders called our words "godly" and "prophetic" and "a call to repentance." John McCain was endorsed John Hagee: "All hurricanes are acts of God because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that." "Do you know the difference between a woman with PMS and a snarling Doberman pinscher? The answer is lipstick. Do you know the difference between a terrorist and a woman with PMS? You can negotiate with a terrorist." George W. Bush was endorsed by Rev. Jerry Falwell: blamed civil libertarians, feminists, homosexuals, and abortion rights supporters for the terrorist attacks of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 "It appears that America's anti-Biblical feminist movement is at last dying, thank God, and is possibly being replaced by a Christ-centered men's movement which may become the foundation for a desperately needed national spiritual awakening." "I do not believe the homosexual community deserves minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics, women, etc., are God-ordained minorities who do indeed deserve minority status." Rudy Giuliani was endorsed by Pat Robertson: blamed civil libertarians, feminists, homosexuals, and abortion rights supporters for the terrorist attacks of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 |

I am not sure why Pennsylvania has been made such a huge test for Obama. It is also a test for Clinton. She needs to move beyond her current base as well. We should not assume that his base will automatically vote for her in the fall. I emphatically will not.
Perhaps Obama is done, but the lingering questions of race and religion are still with us. I find the notion that Obama is a racist quite funny. Most Americans appear to be far removed from their government. Obama brought back people's interests. I really do not think Hillary's candidacy did this. I've been voting for 22 years. I think Obama has done a great job. Some of these same people that are commenting here would not even be interested in politics ordinarily. It will be business as usual. This is why people have tuned out everything. Although I've been encouraged to vote since I was a child, I will tune out now. I won't vote at all. I can see why people have tuned out in the past. Also there is a fear that appears to be overwhelming. It's almost a fear that Obama is going to do something ominous if he becomes President. I'm open to understanding such fear. Slowly Tuning Out, |

I wish the press would not perpetuate the idea that Obama's quest for the nomination - a quest he is well ahead in - is predicated on whether or not he wins PA, when we all know he is far behind Clinton in that State. The press has an obligation to remind the public that this is in fact a Democratic Primary - between two Democrats with similar policies - not the general election. I fail to see the validity of buying into the Clinton's desired interpretation that this is a critical litmus test.
The press should also be reminding the voting public that a) the amount of Republicans cross voting for Clinton with no intent to vote for her in November, has risen dramatically (evidenced in TX, OH and Missi), as a result of the race dragging on past the Republicans deciding on their nominee and b) Obama is effectively being ganged up on by both Republicans and Clinton supporters at this time. To fail to recognize this and encourage voters to reflect accurately is - in my opinion - a travesty and a disservice to the voting public. |

Civil Rights Act of 1964, votes by Party.... The original House version: * Democratic Party: 164-96 (63%-37%) * Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%) The Senate version: * Democratic Party: 46-22 (68%-32%) * Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%) The Senate version, voted on by the House: * Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%) * Republican Party: 186-35 (84%-16%) More Democrats voted against it than Republicans and Rep's voted FOR IT in higher percentages. And lets not forget the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1960 signed into law by Eisenhower, a Republican. So can we put this ridiculous myth that Republicans were anti civil rights to bed yet and just stick to deifying Obama despite his 20 year affiliation with a crude racist? |

And also two irrefutable - in the open - facts for people to consider who are sick of what has happened to the country over the last 8 years. 1/ Murdoch, owner of Fox News, is supporting Clinton, 2/ Karl Rove recently did an interview in which he sang to Clinton's tune and support.
Wake up America - that same people that messed up your country and trying to dupe you out of a good man to lead you forward. Obama is not your enemy - don't fall for this again! |

Change is never easy. Change is hard. Some change is harder than others. And hard change is never as easy as easy change, if only because hard change is hard. Changing the easy to the hard is harder than changing the hard to the easy. But if, ladies and gentlemen, you are looking for easy change done the hard way, then that hard change will not be easy, if only because change is hard, and harder change is much harder when it is harder than when it is easy. This is especially the case if you use the same way of changing results that ultimately results in change done the hard way. And that is why I am proposing hard change with a different approach that could ensure a different change than we've had in the past with the same approach only with different results with easy change than the hard change that we've had when change was, in fact, easy. Thank you very much."

Jay. well said. clinton is trying to perpetuate this lie as you said. PA is full of white dem. racists. she should win PA easily anyway. she tries to pick and choose where she says she has to win. she needs to remember there are 50 states in US not 6 or 7. but who can figure clinton math.
the media knows she will win PA easily. obama knows that but the lie the media is perpetrating that if she wins PA big, she has a chance to win nom. legally and fairly without stealing it thru either blackmailing superdelegates or the superdelegates themselves throwing the dem. party off cliff by backing someone who is behind in elected delegate count and popular vote is a lie and they know it. like the clintons they believe if you tell a lie long enough it will be true. |

To those who asked what would happen if Hillary or McCain were aligned with a white hate monger, McCain IS aligned with *multiple* white hate mongers, such as Rod Parsley (his pastor), John Hagee and Jerry Falwell.
And he's got the endorsement of George W Bush. |

All the obama supporters are defending him staying at the church, ALL the black ministers are defending Wrights preaching, that simply tells ALL Americans they also support his feelings of anti- America and white hatred that the church preaches. No one says Obama cant attend the church for 20 years, or raise his daughters to be racist like his wife, what we ARE SAYING is that HE CANNOT REPRESENT ALL OF AMERCIA AS U.S. PRESIDENT! Rev Wright was and most likely still is a paid advisor on Obamas campaign??? Obama and David Axelrod insisted that Obama be the black candidate early in SC when they tried to spin it on Bill Clinton, it worked for the biased tabloid media like CNN cronies, since then, we ALL have come to realize Obama has problems with the truth and we learned this week for sure where his faith and true beliefs are, its obvious THERES ABSOLUTLY NO CHANGE WITH OBAMA, HE WILL DRAG U.S. BACK TO THE 60'S RACIAL DIVIDE at a time our country needs to unite. He cannot do that, no matter how many black news casts tell you he can
OBAMA STANDS BEHIND SPIRITAL ADVISOR WRIGHT! “Wright is like an uncle you love and respect” As imperfect as he may be, he has been family to me for so many years, I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community, said Obama. The man who believes and preaches the U.S. government formulated the HIV AIDS virus to commit genocide against blacks also preaches “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye on 9/11. This is the same man Obama had as advisor on his Presidential staff until this week. Rather than break ties with his demagogic, anti-American pastor, Obama used a speech on the non-back race to excuse his behavior and sweep the controversy under the rug. Passing the buck. Obama supposedly condemning Wright's shocking verbal assaults against the U.S and White Americans, but April last year; Obama was the first and quickest to demand Imus' ouster for making a racially insensitive remarks. His opinions and issues change with the weather, he is too UNSTABLE and proven he cannot make a decision or stay with one. Next we have ALL corrupt campaign financers, business and personal friends as indicted Rezko, former Dallas Mayor Hill, Rep. Rick Renzi and Mr. Auchi, leading supplier of arms to Saddam's regime convicted for corruption in France, the same British-Iraqi billionaire lent millions and millions of dollars to Obama all coming out of the woodwork. ALL this from the half black ex-Muslim who touts change and claims to be a uniter of all people? Proof he is just another in-experienced Washington politician that the media has like CNN has given a free pass at the great risk of our great country! There will soon be allot more video of Rev Wright and Obama coming, all this has proven without doubt if he is the nominee the democrat voters he cannot win the general election, just the black vote will not do it. Its time for Obama to leave this race and take his not so proud of America racist wife, spiritual advisor and anti white church with him.. |

I don't see how Falwell could have endorsed McCain since Falwell is dead. For about six months now.
To my knowledge, Rod Parsley is not McCain's pastor. I don't believe Parsley's church is in Arizona or even near Washington. McCain does not go to Hagee's church in Dallas either. Until the endorsement, the two had never met. That is a lot different with knowing someone for 20 years. What have either one of them uttered from the pulpit that could be labeled racist? You obviously must watch them a lot more than I do. I have never heard Hagee say anything racist. He does condemn homosexuality, abortion, and all the other usual issues. But what does any of that have to do with race? |

Bangladesh! Are you kidding me? How dare a craphole country with NO RELEVANCE whatsoeverdare to comment on the greatest country the world has ever seen. Everyone around the world bashes us, yey they're coming here to live. Name another country that has the world represented in its population like we do. And next time you need bailing out, whether its militarily, economically, charity, etc. think twice, O Swarthy One. |
