actually....the u.s. and its citizens are proud that they managed to end world war II as quickly as it could. those bombs stopped what could have been a terrible carnage suffered by the people of japan and brave allied fighting men.

Funny is the LAST thing that Bush's statements are. The man has the ability to destroy the planet with a single command.

Unfortunately we've spent trillions of dollars fighting a useless and unjust war in Iraq for several years. Bin Laden is still alive, Al Qaeda still exists, our dollar is at an all time low and we are in great debt to China. Now when someone really needs us we damn near unable to afford the gas to go and help, gas (oil) that we were supposed to be blessed with by helping these oil rich countries.

Well Putin you just helped us bring Poland to our side and just felt the first of many penalties for your incursion. United States agreed to Polish proposals that it help augment its defenses in exchange for placing 10 missile defense interceptors. You get what you deserve Russia.

I am reading all of this and can't stop being amazed about what you're saying and how you're trying to show this conflict.

You all are defending Georgia saying about aggression from Russia and somehow you're forgetting that actually Georgia initiated this war.

For the first two days of this conflict more than 1000 civil people were simply killed by militaries from Georgia. I am not even talking about russian soldiers some of which were also killed and wounded by the same militaries from Georgia who were actually supposed to maintain peace in that region.

I assume that you just didn't know these facts above or for some reason you don't want to see them?

It is not hatred for the country. I love the USA. It is hatred for G.W.,his father, and the whole neo-con money making privatization of war that has me pissed off. How appropriate on the verge of a major Presedential election the neo-cons find a way to try to scare the American people into "following" them. The Russians are coming, The Russians are coming. Get real, the conflict in Georgia is real but has no threat to the US. Bush and his cronies just like to think of the US military is their own "World Police" that can invade countries on false pretenses and set up shop for all of their privatization buddies.

Alexey, what you don't understand about Americans is that it's too much work for us to find out the facts. We listen to sound bites and form an opinion based on what the media feeds to us. If it's not entertainment we lose interest. I was sitting in an Army hospital when news of this conflict came on the TV. It was flashed across the bottom of the screen because the real "news" that day was about another American politician having an extramarital affair. Very little information was given because it was more entertaining to hear about the personal scandal of one person than conflict in a place we know nothing about. Ignorance is the preferred state of most Americans.
