Clinton: Why can't Obama win big states?

I think the U.S. has given all the candidates more than they deserve. With all their money, the Clinton's are living free. They charge the government rent for their bodyguards housing that covers the cost of their home. Now that is a deal we all should have.

the only large state obama has won is illinois ... 600,000 of his 700,000 vote lead come from illinois (400,000 from cook county!)

if there is one more debate and obama is toast...
of course, there won't be...he'll win the nomination and 50% of the clinton supporters in ... california, new york, florida, ohio and pennsylania will vote for mccain...

Good question, and probably Hillary's best claim to the nomination. Dems won't win Utah or Montana (Obama won those), but there is no way they can win without PA, CA, MA, NJ, NY, etc.(Hillary won all of those!) That's the "base" folks, and without it there is very little indeed. That old and cranky John McCain must be doing a fox-trot (I don't think he learned the twist yet).

I was born and raised a Democrat, in the tradition of Wilson, FDR and JFK, all of whom I still admire. They were truly great leaders. The Democrats of today are nothing like them.
What many Democrats don't seem to get is that elections are to a great extent popularity contests. It is a personality thing. The people just don't like them.
Yes, issues are important. But winning debates and having good speeches only goes so far. If the people feel creepy and nervous around a candidate, if something just doesn't feel right about them, then they vote for someone else. John Kerry is proof of that.
That is what is happening with Obama. There is just something about him, a vibe of some kind, that turns people against him. The mythical aura of the man has worn off, and most Americans have finally come back down to earth.
This might explain why Democrats usually win polls with issues, but still lose the election. Too many Democrats are arrogant, obnoxious, aloof, snobbish, rude, meddlesome, and condescending. They talk to the people like we are stupid children and show more respect for fish than they do their own people. They are more concerned about the rest of the world than they are us.
I do not need their help with my life. I am tired of being saved from myself, and given advice from foolish idiots.
I simply don't care if they are right or not. Call me stupid all you want, but I do not want to be governed by power-crazy jerks. I am tired of hearing about how "intellectual" they are. Enough already with the "we are so smart" stuff.
Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, Mondale, all of them have this smug "we know everything" attitude. So does Obama. I am not impressed.
One more thing. They refuse to give any credit at all to the other side. When are they finally going to admit that, like it or not, Ronald Reagan was a great President? So was Lincoln, T. Roosevelt, and Eisenhower. All of them Republicans.

I wonder just how much Hillary owes Rush Limbaugh for her win in Pennsylvania due to Operation Chaos. This is typical Limbaugh - If you can't win any other way scuttle your oppositions primaries by crossing over and voting for the opponet you think will be most easy to defeat. Then return to the Republican fold during the real election. Doing what Rush does best - Poisoning the Political Well!

The last two lines show exactly how so many voters like you *are* BITTER. Lots of False Pride there.

The fact is that if you are an ordinary wage-earning American, chances are you DO need the help of more powerful people called politicians. Probably thousands of citizens have lost their homes over the last several years due to inability to pay ruinous medical bills. Do you think that's cute? Or sexy?

If you want to be insured but CAN'T find affordable insurance, you got a serious problem. If you never smile 'cause your teeth are gross or falling out of your head 'cause you never go to the dentist 'cause you don't have dental insurance... you got a serious problem.

You NEED HELP from someone like Obama.

Far more important than the scale is the PATTERN. Mr. Obama is winning the states who will give their electoral vote to Mr. McCain.

Many of the votes he got are 'spoiler votes,' that is, the Republicans & un-enrolled who voted in Democratic Primaries; for who they perceive to be the weaker candidate in November.

Many of the 'independents' who Mr. Obama is bragging about have NO INTEWNTION of voting for him in the general election. Spme, in these states, they consider the Republican Party to be 'too liberal.'

For a true picture of who the 'super-delegates' should vote for:
MAKE a list of the states that voted domocratic in two of the past four presidential elections, eliminate those in which Republicans can vote in the Democratic Primary, and see who carried those states.

This would be the TRUE Democratic Candidate. I have not done this, but if someone who is a statistics expert would asttempt it; I would support whoever is the winner of this analysis.

It is odd that you say that. I understand that it's the uneducated, lower income folks that go for Hillary.

The democratics came up with this system so the elites in the party would have the final say in who the candidate will be. Why, because they believe the Joe and Jane average voter are not intelligent enough to vote for the right person.
Best case scenario for the convention; Hillary to have the most in the popular vote category. Hillary to have won most of the blue states. Barrack to have won more red states than Hillary and have more super delegates, but have fewer total votes. Neither will have the total number of delegates to win out right before the convention.
The solution; On the last night of the election, In walks the Noble Prize Winning and 2008 democratic candidate, Al Gore.
