"QUOTED FROM" The Case For Impeachment By Dave Lindorff & Barbara Olshansky Didn't Reagan's tax cuts actually increase the money flowing into the US Treasury? Weren't the deficits caused by huge increases in govt spending that increased faster than the increase in govt revenues? Reagan tried to contain spending, but the democrats in congress refused to keep spending down.

Reagan inflated and gold-plated the defense budget, then bonded out the resulting deficit spending for future generations to pay interest on. So typically repugnican.

The sad thing is that history will vindicate Bush just as they did Reagan. Reagan was a disaster for the common American but now he has become a God of sorts. Remember that the elite are the ones who choose our text books and they won't pick Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States to be read in schools.

I dunno about that Reagan bit of revisionism on your part. During the Reagan administration, I started and completed college and by the time he left office, my income had more than quadrupled - I am no exception and certainly fit the mold of the common working man. Right now, anyone who wants a job can get a job.

Increase Taxes on big companies, have you ever heard the term "shit rolls down hill"? Bigger government= more control? Laughable. Yes, more control over your rights. I agree though, we will possibly face a depression. Why? Well, we havent been able to be energy independant since every peace loving hippy has been keeping oil drilling, nuclear power, and coal from being produced. We cant even refine oil in the country. 30 years people, 30 freakin years. You think of your kinds inhaling toxic fumes, well now you can worry about them eating, and finding a job. You can worry about them working for 25cents an hour since we have 10,000,000 plus illegals working for almost nothing. Yea, but lets worry about global warming, I mean, shit ,Europe does right? There doing GREAT!!! You people really need to take a hard look at Europe and how there doing. Especially the UK, the former world super power. Try to see why there not a super power anymore. Ive lived in Europe, its nice, but it ain't no America. Spot the differences and you get a gold star for effort. I'm assuming YOU are an American. So am I. When you use terms like 'hippy' and 'you people', you define your mindset for the rest of us. When nuclear plants are in the works, wealthy republicans and blue collar dems ALL protest because NO ONE wants that in their town. Same with refineries. Right and Left fight it because everyone wants to protect their own property values. You want to take the easy road. Drill for oil because it's just too much work to look for alternative energy. If you used the brain God gave you , you would realize that even drilling now and building refineries NOW would not yield output for at least 3 years BUT people are modifying fuel sources today. Hell, you can use vegetable oil to run your car today if you are so inclined. Your archaic solutions for your family's future will be YOUR legacy and they will remember you as such-unimaginative and indifferent.

My kids will do just fine thank you and the air quality is very sweet here in the suburbs. There are no foreclosures on my block in fact there is new construction that is being snapped up by wealthy folks moving in. It's all about personal responsibility and preparation when it comes to the quality of the life you live. You either take the bull by the horns or you slack off and get the horns up your behind. I'm glad my parents showed me the way. My kids have no excuse. They've been pointed in the right direction. Well you definitely are a great story teller. I guess if you believe Bush is a great President and our economy is fine, I'm wasting keystrokes. You are either demented or drunk or a little bit of both.

You know the cost of things but not the value, how about that? With regards to my salary, you started with a false premise and landed in the wrong place. An impressive attempt to be condescending, but, quite pedestrian in the end.

You act like minimum or "living wage" is a destination when it is a stepping stone in the journey. The real mirage is the democrat notion that people should be able to do whatever they want, over-extend themselves financially and make poor health choices, then send the bill to someone else to pay. The real mirage is the democrat notion that the government is the solution when it's the problem. Don't even come at me with a bunch of liberal bilge and propaganda.
