Well into her third trimester of pregnancy, Gianna's biological mother was injected with a saline solution intended to induce a chemical abortion at a Los Angeles County abortion center. Eighteen hours later, and precious minutes before the abortionist's arrival, Gianna emerged. Premature and with severe injuries that resulted in cerebral palsy. But alive. Had the abortionist been present at her birth, Gianna would have been killed, perhaps by suffocation. As it was, a startled nurse called an ambulance, and Gianna was rushed to a nearby hospital, where, weighing just two pounds, she was placed in an incubator, then, months later, in foster care. Gianna survived then, and thrives now, because, as she told me recently with a laugh, "I guess I don't die easy." Which is what the abortionist might have thought as he signed his victim's birth certificate. Gianna's medical records state that she was "born during saline abortion." As an Illinois state senator, Barack Obama twice opposed legislation to define as "persons" babies who survive late-term abortions. Babies like Gianna. Mr. Obama said in a speech on the Illinois Senate floor that he could not accept that babies wholly emerged from their mother's wombs are "persons," and thus deserving of equal protection under the Constitution's 14th Amendment. A federal version on the same legislation passed the Senate unanimously and with the support of all but 15 members of the House. Gianna was present when President Bush signed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act in 2002. When I asked Gianna to reflect on Mr. Obama's candidacy, she paused, then said, "I really hope the American people will have their eyes wide open and choose to be discerning.... He is extreme, extreme, extreme."

Poor Obama was found today frightened and huddled behind his teleprompter, distraught over the thought of facing John McCain in unmoderated townhall meetings. Pundits have said that Obama was a flip-flopping coward not to accept the challenge by McCain to participate in townhall meetings, however, it was a smart move on his part. Otherwise, he may have looked like this: http://tinyurl.com/69vkuk http://tinyurl.com/5kz4x5 http://tinyurl.com/528yrl http://tinyurl.com/464c3n http://tinyurl.com/4k39jt

Not to mention the mental health of a mother who stood by while her child was murdered. Abortionists don't give a crap about women - just money. Mental health of the mother? Are you kidding? Now you are defending the same woman that CHOSE to have an abortion? just ridiculous!

I had a dream last night, woke up in a cold sweat...
I dreamed that Barack Obama became President and he lied to get us to invade a country whose leader hated Al Queda; 5000 young kids were killed, housing foreclosures began to multiply, the cost of food and gas began to skyrocket and unemployment began to grow while inflation was rampant.
It was horrible in this dream, the economy went down the tubes, banks even began to close.
Thank goodness I woke up and Bush was on TV telling us we are all doing just fine. Made me want to run right out and vote for more of our great President's policies by voting for John McCain. He'll keep us going great, just like we are now and not like that scarey stuff in my dream.
Who wants a future with a bad economy, high food prices, skyrocketing gas cost, closing banks, high unemployment, rampant inflation and thousands of kids being sent to die in a war that should never have been fought? Nope, we need to stick with Bush/McCain to stay on the right track!
Boy, that was a scarey dream!

If you consider abortion to be murder, like most pro-life people do, then the mother here already knew she was killing the child, according to you. Now how is it different to the mother if the baby survives? Didn't she plan to "kill" it in the first place?

There you go again; Obama has refused to comment on the cartoon at all. Yet you say he "went crazy" over it. Guess it fits into your irrational delusion, doesn't it? Tell us, how exactly is it that Obama "went crazy", what exactly did he say (documentable quote) about it? You have the floor. Hmmmmm... I thought so.

Obama did say the call to Friday prayers (Islam) was the most beautiful sound on earth. Hmmm......

Apples to Oranges Obama voted against giving medical attention to a baby that survived an Abortion attempt. There's something wrong with a person that holds such low regard for human life. This is Obama. Do you really reign an understanding of what he voted against or are you just another one that is covering their ears, eyes and nose on anything Obama?

I understand that in the overall picture, he voted to protect roe vs wade, and therefore women's rights. The act, as it was written by republicans would have put a hardship on women, doctors, hospitals, etc...

How pitiful that the self-described expert on war, torture and the Mid-East doesn't even know what countries border on the country where over 5000 American kids have been killed during the war he supports.
McCain didn't even know that Afghanistan is 750 miles from having a border with Iraq - that's incredible and disgusting.
5000 dead American soldiers and Marines, and McCain basically doesn't know exactly where they died.
That is just incredible!

As they say, "That's his story and he's sticking to it" It's basically more BS because it was specific legislation concerning the real life occurrences of what to do when babies survive the abortion doctor. His reasons included an explanation that this abortion surviving baby laying on the table really wasn't "born" yet. Again, there's something wrong with a person that denies help to a newborn child. This is Obama.

And again, he wasn't the only one that didn't vote for it...1 person doesn't approve it, that means that person is in the wrong, the majority doesn't approve it, that means something is wrong with the bill/act... why don't you blame the group that wrote it for not writing it in a way they knew would pass? more than once! you believe in something? write it in a way that everyone can agree, such as the one passed by the fed!

We are seeing a strange condition of racial Americana play itself out on these threads.
The younger generation is ready to accept all skin color as equals, and considers their own racially bigoted parents as somewhat odd social dinosaurs.
The die-hard racists among us are now mostly older curmudgeons, under-educated whites, or if younger live in houses delivered on wheels.
This ever-shrinking minority of bigoted gene-pool dregs has become increasingly bitter and strident, as they see the very foundation blocks of their ignorant beliefs being utterly destroyed by the acceptance of the candidacy of Barack Obama by main-street America.
Real Americans - those that truly believe in our Constitution and Bill of Rights - are going to unite, black and white, to elect America's first black President in November.
This will send a message that will speak loudly of equality and opportunity in American society for Americans of all color, and it will spell the death knell of racial bigotry as a viable viewpoint.
And the bigots know it.
