Now all we need to do is hold hands and sing, right? They demanded and had Dog the Bounty Hunter taken off the air for making some remarks in private (this is just one example, the list goes on), yet I don't hear Jesse or Al or anyone in the black community asking Rev. Jeremiah Wright to step down after all of the disparaging remarks he's made, not only about whites, but about our country as a whole. In fact, these people, including Obama, are still standing behind him. Seems like a double standard to me.

How many more political bombs will be dropped before democrats realize they have a real problem with Obama. We have only seen the tip of the ice burg. Wait until we see proof about his family and the militant attitude that exist. And, oh yes, Muslim militants too. Wow, are your heads in the sand? Obama is a disaster.

It is truly my hope that this message is read by those you who have shown (daily) that they do not have a command of the English language. I am a Black man. I am from the south side of Chicago. I grew up in a place that makes your famed Pines Hills area look like the suburbs. I have witnessed violence (black on black, brown on brown, white on white etc). I have witnessed racism (past and current). But what I have been reading in these “article discussions” is disgraceful. I moved to Florida 2 years ago to begin teaching. I was told by my staff at the University of Chicago that Floridians (no mention of race) were backwards and still maintained very racist views reminiscent of the “old days.” I just could not believe that people from such a beautiful place could harbor so much hate and animosity. But alas, I was wrong. The racist language that I read daily on the Orlando Sentinels web sit is beyond appalling. I have personally contacted a few of the writers to ask why they “despise” blacks, Hispanics, foreigners, etc. The typical answer I receive is “those people are animals, they deserve to die.” I took my inquire a bit further and asked if they would like to meet, but they ALL declined. PITTY. It has been my experience that people who use coarse language (online) do so because they cannot express themselves any other way (ignorant), have low self-worth (sad), low-income (poor), are generally the derelicts of society (low-life), but above all else, COWARDLY (punks). Because you know you would not say a word if you saw “those people” in front of you. Instead you wait until you get behind a keyboard to spew your repugnant jargon. So tell me Orlando folks (and readers of the Orlando Sentinel). Are Floridians really this dense or are these aforementioned folks truly the “bottom of the barrel”?

The previous four posts reek of ignorance. I personally believe that a candidate's viability should not be chosen based on race or gender, yet it seems to be the focus for some. Redogg: centuries of racist attitudes are not eradicated in a single speech. Hate Speech: Your name is an accurate testimony to your personality, it seems. To believe that Obama is truly A) Racist B) Muslim is just ridiculous. Danimal: What secret militant attitudes are you aware of that the rest of us are oblivious of. What connections do you have with the Obama family? It seems to me that he has been against the Iraq war, while a truly militant family (the Bush family) has led the country for far too long. Rockwell: The language in your comment shows your lack of understanding about the world around you, and I imagine that 99% of the readers here will instantly brush off your remarks. I would advise people to read the speech that he gave and re-evaluate your views on racism in America, and the options that are available for us in the critical election.

Obama is a disaster. The Democrats are NOT smart enough to figure this out. That's why they are DEMOCRATS. But fortunately the Republicans and Independents have recognized their dangerous agenda already. McCain wins over either Obama or Hillary unless he does something really, really stupid. Truthfully, Obama, Hillary and that long gone Edwards guy are three of the WORST presidential candidates we've ever seen get this far in an election cycle.

Think;
You can try to brush the posters here off and try to make THEM appear to be racists. However, how can you sit and listen to Jeremiah Wright's hate speech and try to justify it ?!?! The white man created AIDS to kill black people...the white man lied about Pearl Harbor so they could bomb brown people....the white government imports drugs just to kill or imprison the black man....the white man is evil....and on and on and on !!! To top it off, he says, "Don't say God Bless America, but God D@&* America" !!! And this is the type of message that will heal wounds and bring people together ?!?!?!?! And then you want us to believe that Obama NEVER heard these types of comments while sitting in the man's church for 20 years ?!?!?!? No one REALLY knows anything about Obama except that he is a 2 year Senator from the south side of Chicago. Is it wrong to ask questions about who this man really is and what he really stands for...after all, he's running for President of the United States....not alderman for the south side of Chicago !!!
If comments like these were made by a white person and you changed the word black every time Wright used the term white, they would be condemned by every media source and politician in the country....AND RIGHTFULLY SO !!! But if it is the other way around......it's taboo and you're a racist if you even ask what it's all about !!! Talk about playing the race card !!!!!!!!! Sad...Very Sad !!!!!

Same old, same old. White racism EVIL! Black hate understandable - even virtuous.
Question: Why should us Whites vote for a man who hates us?

They are very similar to you, aren't they? The first thing you do in gaining respect is to be respectful. If you want respect you have to be willing to give it and I really don't see any in your article. Keep trying though. You might decide to address your problem a little differently. You might then get a better response.

If you disagree with Obama then you are a racist. Liberals are pitiful, weak, angry, deceitful and arrogant. It is in fact liberals that are racists and always make lame attempts to paint the more conservative as such. No wonder liberals can so easily be despised.

Why won't Obama wear an American flag lapel pin? Why won't he place his hand over his heart during the Star Spangle Banner? What is it about Obama that makes him appear not to think this is the greatest country on the planet? Why does his radical wife hate America?

So many problems with this man. He has been willing to listen and promote the firey racial anti-white, anti-American rhetoric for 20 years of the so called Rev. Wright. Now he wants to put a spin on it again to lay blame only on the white side of the aisle. How much do we have to spend. How much do we have to give. Folks, he will not be satisfied until this country is destroyed. So much of our economic problems are not becuase of whites or Bush. But simply because lenders have been forced into making bad loan after bad loan for fear of being called racist. When will it ever stop. I sure hope it stops at the polls. We can not afford this man...
