Still waiting on the help for the working man supporting a family of 4. I work for a living but can't afford to pay all my bills but yet I make to much for assistance, but yet don't make enough to pay my bills or refinance my house. Awesome, when will the true American's who make this country work day in and day out get some damn help!!!

Instead of building more roads, why not build things for the roads to go TO, like factories or something with jobs that will be around after the road project is finished?

Budget only for union members and the rest of us are on our own. Obama has always been about political payoffs.

I thought the stimulus was going to pay for all those "shovel ready" road projects ? The community centers should not get any fed funds, as it is now, people are given an education valued over 150k, public school. Why do we have to then educate them more ? We were raised in an area that did not have rec centers and I can't think of any childhood friend that is now in prison.

That budget is a joke. Look at all the salivating journos: Ooh, free money. More "investments." It's called tax and spend. Oh yeah, and another hair-brained high-spped train idea. Let's have another AMTRAK, another giant sinkhole.

Hey Jack, QUIT ATTEMPTING TO SCARE PEOPLE. QUIT. WE CAN READ. Here is the text of the budget proposal. Page 126, http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files...

REDUCTION: LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Department of Health and Human Services
The Administration proposes to return Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding to historic levels, consistent with those provided in 2008 prior to energy price spikes.
Justification
During this period of tough budget choices, the President's 2012 Budget provides $2.57 billion for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to help low-income families offset a portion of their home heating and cooling costs. This includes $1.98 billion in base grants and $590 million in contingency funds to allow the Administration to respond to energy-related emergencies. The 2012 Budget does not re-propose the mandatory funding trigger that was included in prior Budgets. Reflecting current forecasts for more moderate energy prices in winter 2011-2012, this returns LIHEAP funding to historic levels received for 2008 prior to the energy price spikes.
Current energy price forecasts predict relatively moderate price increases for winter 2011-2012 compared to this winter, with prices remaining well below the peaks experienced in 2008. For example, the West Texas Intermediate spot price for crude oil is expected to be $95 per barrel in the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to a peak of nearly $124 per barrel in the second quarter of 2008. Likewise, the Henry Hub spot price for natural gas is expected to be $4.52 per thousand cubic meters in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared to a peak price of $11.72 per thousand cubic meters in the second quarter of 2008.1
The Administration will continue to monitor energy prices going forward and will be willing to revisit program needs if there are significant price increases.

You do understand we have the ability to make roads last 5 times longer between paving by using better technology and materials but we won't do it because it would put all those construction workers out of a job. The unions wouldn’t be too happy about that.

Welcome to the new America, where it's better to continue to throw money at something for votes and temporary jobs then to actually make an investment in the future.

No doubt more "investment" in much needed infrastructure. And we need to "invest" more on education and invest more in high speed rail and "invest" more on public safety forces and "invest" more on health care and "invest" more on..........well, you get the idea. Simply change the term from "spend" to "invest"..........th en spend away as though all is well with the economy. However, as the chickens come home to roost, the politicians will suddenly announce that we need to increase federal, state and local taxes to pay for all the "investments".

I know exectly what you mean. Its just like GM management deciding to build cars to last only four or five years to make people buy more cars. Unfortunately, others came along and DID build cars to last. Now that company is the number one auto manufacturer, and GM is bankrupt.

Good job management.

You won't see that money in Ohio. If you do it will be used to fight off slot machines and to pay down the loss Union pension funds.

Forget the high speed rail, we can't afford to support a system that costs so much to the benefit of a few.
