Kansas Lawmakers Struggling With Effects Of Tax Plan

WE as a state cannot keep our courts open, but we are going to cut taxes. What a deal.

This new tax plan will create two classes of Kansans those of us working for a salary who will pay Income Taxes. And certain business types whose income will not be taxed. What a Deal.

After this passes what else will we not be able keep open? Schools?

However remember, we must be eternally greatful to the great Brownbackian.

So is your beef just with certain business' that don't pay taxes or does it bother you at all that there are a record number of citizens that are living off the government, not paying any tax at all and yet they can actual still collect a tax return on top of their monthly living and food expense free money?

The U.S. has become a low wage nation, and consequently, our manufacturing sector is seeing quite a comeback. The fact that a few billionaires are subsidizing these wages with various tax credits does not break my heart. And even despite this, a low wage earner paying sales taxes and FICA and license fees and property tax is paying a higher portion of his income than most billionaires. STFU.

MY beef, as you call it, is that Kansas cannot pay the bills and Kansas is wanting to cut taxes on a certain class of people while taxing others. Is this fair? I think not. WE cannnot pay our bills but let us cut taxes some more. Does that make sense?

Let us say I have $60,000 of taxable income on my state return. At a $4.5% tax rate I would pay $2700.00 in state taxes.
Now my neighbor next door has the same $60,000 taxable income on his state return. But because his income comes through an S corporation, or an LLC, or a sole prop, what does he owe?

ZERO.

So we have another class of citizens living off the governmet, as you put it, and I am helping Pay the tab. So what is your beef?

So is your beef just with some guy making minimum wage may not be paying any income taxes?

But it does not bother you at all that someone making thousands of dollars will not be paying any income taxes. Heck of a philosphy to live by.
