Shame on the government. The government either (a) doesn't know how to run a large procurement, or (b) knuckled under to the pressure from the losing team. In either event, more wasted tax dollars for a second bidding cycle.

I am guessing that grumman doesnt have enough money to bribe officials. Considering this is also how the f-14 got retired before its time.(dont tell me it was maintanance the proposed upgrade would have cut maintanance down by 30-40 percent).

The contract is simply to large to be determined by technical merit. I've seen this scenario played out before and its too bad Northrup Grumman is on the wrong side politically..The Dems will put this back in Boeing's corner.
