Majority of U.S. veterans receive a monthly pension (retirement pay) upon completion of twenty years of active military service. Majority of U.S. veterans with less then twenty years of active military service receive no monetary compensation unless they are awarded a service connected disability. Having said that, all filipino military veterans should be compensated by the same regulations that governs the compensation for U.S. veterans regardless if they were promised a pension. Pensions are earned upon completing twenty years of active duty and America have veterans that have fought just as hard as the filipino veterans and are not receiving any monetary compensation because they are not retired. I hold nothing against the filipino veterans but regulations shouldn't be overlooked.

Wouldn't you care for money to support yourself after you gave your life and limb for the service so that you Manny Silva, who probably is, a Mexican by your last name, who doesn't understand the true meaning of Honor and Dedication, who also probably was brought up by illegal immigrants from your poor, and i will use your own word, pathetic country. Its surprising you know some english, dude! Did you finish schooling or what? Know your own country's history first before you make a comment against others'.

Bill passed to reward Filipino WWII veterans.
Filipino veterans learned Wednesday, September 24, 2008, that they could get lump-sum benefit payments from the U.S. government more than six decades after they fought alongside U.S. forces during World War II.
The Filipino Veterans Equity Act of 2008 would pay $15,000 to Filipinos who are U.S. citizens and $9,000 to non-U.S. Filipino veterans. The long awaited promise that was broken have finally been approved by Congress and hopefully records of the fighting Filipino soldiers still exists today and not take another sixty -plus years to identify the living Filipino soldiers or family members of the deceased. A mad rush to claim this benefit is anticipated! Will a proof of Form DD214 be required? LOL (just a joke)
