Easley attacks Dole over airfield

“The U.S. Navy is funded by the U.S. Senate, therefore it responds and reports to the Senate”

Gov. Mike Easley on Wednesday said U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole is failing residents of two counties where the Navy is considering building a jet landing strip by not speaking against the project. via News Observer

The Senator is going to look at what is in the best interest of the entire state, as well she should. That is her job description isn't it? The Represenatives look out at for the local areas. The Senator is also on the Senate Armed Forces Committee and has an obligation to work in the best interest of the military; from which we all benefit every single day of our lives.

ya know, i wonder if all Hales Lake area was actually within Currituck's lines.....would Easley be saying as much??? look how he tried to treat Currituck County over the Airport Property.....as Ballentine carried Currituck easily over Easley.:-)
this whole anti-OLF mindset that it would seem the majority of Northeast NC's residents & public officals hold is very troubling to me.
