More Republican lies and distortion of history. Absolutely disgusting. Republicans who believe this view should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

I can just see Dr. king saying screw everyone along the way and make as much money as you can and the hell with everyone else. Some how this is a record only Republicans can hold true to theit values. Dr. King is a true democrat. Sorry you can't re-write history. It is what it is.

David Duke. That should be your Republican example.

My post from another forum (come over there so we don't have two running):

Abraham Lincoln helped to found the Republican party in 1854 and was the first Republican president. It's well known that he was the president that freed the slaves. In fact there was a more radical faction of the Republican party who wanted stiffer penalties levied on the Southern slave owners / confederates.

The predominant party in the south was the Democratic party. Most slave owners were Democrats. After the Civil War, there was a lot of resentment amongst them against the Reconstruction plans and the KKK grew as a reaction to combat the "menace" of the newly freed blacks.

Now does this say that the Democrats, as a whole, were responsible for starting and perpetuate the KKK? I don't think that's necessarily fair, but people should understand the history of both parties with respect to slavery before they buy into Democratic rhetoric about the Republicans being "racist" or "not for minorities" because that is aboslutely false.

I'll simply add you to the ignorant column. I have a BS in History. I don't need any education from you. I stand by my words. More Republican distortion and lies. Learn about the 60's. the 1960's not the 1860's..

BOTH sides distort. Both sides do positive things too. But at the end of the dsy, conservatives (note I do not say Republicans since they are not conservative anymore) make the most sense. You opened this forum by accusing Republicans of distorting the truth. This is an emotional spitting liberal tactic. Liberals are very closed minded and biggotted and real easy to piss off. I believe this comes from a deep down doubt in the positions you take.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
