And the Democrats are saying that the oil companys are raping us! Aproximately 4% of the cost of every gallon of gasoline is profit for the oil companys, 15% goes towards taxes. Put the blame where it belongs and quit "buying" into the diversionary tactics that they're feeding you so that they can spend these taxes for something other than what they were intended for.
It's simple math: 1) sell alot of gas- make alot of profit, sell less gas- make less profit. Ever heard of supply and demand? 2)Cutting the production of crude oil (OPEC) just to keep the price artificially up, equals higher prices at the pump. If the US would drill in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in the proposed (barren) land, maybe they would take away some of our dependancy and OPEC's leverage. I don't hear of any Alaskans complaining about the annual royalty checks they receive from the oil companys! Maybe if off-shore drilling in California were allowed, we could get a check too!
Why isn't anybody in congress proposing to tax the software companys that have even bigger profit margins? Or the subsidized dairy farmers that produce milk that sells for about the same price per gallon as gasoline?
