That being said, I find it saddening that the Prez of the association was unaware of the visit to the school site by our Senators.
It was publicized in the newspaper and was apparent on at least one local internet news site, OCINS.com .
Sounds like the association could use a little help with community awareness.
Who from this community covers Orlando City Council meetings, OCPS commissioners meetings and the OCPS School Board workshops and board meetings?
Civic awareness is our responsibility.

Couldn't agree with you more. It's all about the $$$ for builders and the politicians who support urban sprawl.

The Sentinel should do a report on the dozen other site's in central Florida. This would make good reading.

Agree with the greed. I don't feel sorry for you chumps, but, look on the bright side. If they haven't exploded by now, most likely they never will. How many of you are buried right on top of an old landfill? Now the gas and the stink later on could lower your property value just a tad.

The Sentinel should do a report on Over Development of precisous land through out Central Florida. They should look at all the empty new homes, communities and office buidings/condos that are on the market and question these developers to why they continue to build? When is it going to stop - when the last tree in Central Florida is gone? It's sickening to see land & trees plowed over because some greedy developer thinks it's the next hot location, especially when you have all these homes & office condos that sit empty down the street. West Orange County for example - there's a new office park off of 535 with about 10-15 office units and only 2 or are occupied. Down the street on the same road a developer is building more office buildings/condos and out front is a office space for lease sign that tells me this developer is speculating like the many other idiot developers out there. I sure would hate to be a developer right now because you're soon going to be the most disliked group idiots in Central Florida.

..consume every avail resource until its all gone and then civilization will collapse as it has done in the past. Greed appears inherent in our makeup. This is an unfortunate reality and especially so for all those being brought into this world at an ever increasing pace. Check out the recent Pop Science mag for some grim news on global conditions. What's pathetic is that my primary source of optimism is that I won't live long enough to experince the full devastation.

Orange County has a terrible track record allowing landowners to develope anything on polluted land, for example, the City of Orlando purchased land that was polluted for the VENUE, and they knew it up front. I question the cleanup before construction of that venue site. A West Orlando community has been fighting developement of an old landfill that contains hazardous waste, and thank goodness, Teresa Jacobs, Orange County Commissioner has questioned County Officials (Planning and Zoning) with fast tracking developement of the polluted property in question. Orange County needs to come clean (get it) and start stopping developement on land that has polluted history. They are afraid of landowners lawsuits and the expense of it all. So come on, use some common sense.

Obviously,
You looked in Warwick at sometime in order to know whether the houses are over-priced and lots too small. We are talking about bombs in a community of families, not money.Life is very precious and whether it is in a $100,000 or $600,000.00 certain things are suppose to be disclosed. Parents are angry about their kids going to school in this situation, I'm angry because I wasn't given the opportunity to decide based on the facts, whether I wanted to risk my family's health and well-being. This is not about how much I paid, but about not paying with my family's health and peace of mind. This is a matter of greed and deception at the expense of others, which Florida has laws in place to protect consumers. This could possibly happen to you oneday??? How would you feel?

I think those people should go back and ask for their homes to be bought back. A similar situation happened in texas...and the homebuyers were able to have the builders buy back their homes. Totally unaccepted! What about the City they are also liable! What a horrible situation. Someone needs to do something about it.

The entire community and its developer was a sham. They told people lies to get them in there - for example, lots of conservation that they rezoned and now this. Unbelievable. You are right, we should all get our money back. Regardless of what people paid for their houses, that is not the issue. Its a bigger picture, its not the community president's fault or the people, but the people behind it who forgot to inform us.

This is a valuable lesson. You can't be an idiot, you must be informed before you buy some thing. This is like buying an old gas station property and screaming and yell after you find out that the ground is contaminated. Research is important, but I guess that would require thinking. May be they need to attend that Middle school to figure out some things

So to all you people that say 'Go cry me a river', you as well are part of the urban sprawl problem. In fact you are part of the human problem. If you are so concerned about our global conditions, then why don't you just exit stage left and stop adding to the so called deplorable conditions of the world. But if you must stay among the human population go and take your trailer and move someplace else. You can't afford a house in Vista lakes then that is your problem.
The fact is that our good friend T.G. Lee bought the property a long time ago and I don't even know if it was disclosed to him about the range. I happen to think that he was quite prominent back then must have known therefore down through the years either he or his estate did not bother to disclose that fact to the people who bought his land. It seems that this is a non-disclosed fact handed through years of transactions. We built homes in an area that promotes a healthy and safe environment for our families. Is there something wrong with that? We ask and they don't tell us about that fact then why are you quick to blame us for being stupid. Do you know what is under your house? Tell us the total history of your land and then you can say to us 'you were dumb to build there'. Until then you go cry me a river because you are a miserable person. Better yet don't, because I don't feel sorry for you.

Do you realize your email address(OK) is listed in another state? The last time I checked (FL) was for Florida.Maybe you need to worry about your state(OK)!!!! Oh, right, that is usually what happens when you are either a less desirable, miserable or have no life of your own. You are gratified in seeing others misfortune.
