To bad they can't run the country the way they run their own personal affaires. If they did we could really slash waste and taxes.........

This is the money they REPORTED having. We all know the Bribes, excuse me, the "Lobbiest Gifts" they receive don't go reported. It's basic math. Why would a person spend millions of dollars for a job that pays $165,000 a year? HUGE kickbacks from Special Interest groups.

I would say the price of fuel is not a concern for these boys and they are apparently not concerned for their constituents. What have they done to bring down the prices and EARN their $165,200 salary?

They do run the country as they run their affairs. I do not think there are any millionaires suffering right now due to the economy. You don't think they actually represent people do you? They are there to represent million/billion dollar corporations and those that feed off of them.
They could care less about the working man.

There are 2.6 million people in the U.S. that are millionaires. That translates into about 9% of the population. If the same ratio applied to the U.S. Senate that would make 9 Senators, Millionaires.

There are 40 millionaires in the Senate[40%], so I would call it a millionaire's club. The top three are John Kerry 164 million,[Mass.] Herb Kohl 111 million[Wisc] John Rockefeller[W. Virginia] 82 million, this was 4 years ago so its probably a whole lot more now.

There are 22 republicans and 18 democrats, 6 are women, with Diane Feinstein #1, 26 million.

I would think the American people would want o be represented by their peers, the ones that know what they think. These people aren't their peers. They are incredibly rich people that have an entirely different lifestyle. A lifestyle that we can only dream of having. They had ought to be replaced and have your next door neighbor in that high office.
But, as Richard Nixon said, people don't want their neighbor in high office, they want some body grand, up there.
And that is somebody that doesn't have the foggiest idea what the average Joe thinks.

And like any of these senators really know what it is like to be a common person... if you aren't rich, you can't be in office and that is one of the biggest shams of this country.

I say kick every lawmaker out and let's get some real people in there. The country would be better off!

What a silly article. The only thing we should be concerned with is their compensation and if it's unreasonable (which I don't think it is). What they do with their money and how they invest it is none of our concern. Sounds like they have retirement savings, what's the big deal?

guess what?? the average college educated 60 year old has the same amount of money...saving money over time and investing it in stocks, real estate or a business is the way to become a millionaire.

Agree with you and can relate to your comment. Many of the complainers may have spent more than
they earned and now need to find someone to blame.

You sure use some fuzzy math. There are about 300 million in the US. 2.6 million would be about 0.9% of the population.
