Bush will lift drilling ban
President Bush on Monday said he would lift a long-standing White House ban on offshore drilling, opening the door for more oil and natural gas exploration along the nation's coastlines.

Good for bush.
Now the idiot Congress must rescind the drilling ban. The Oil supply must be increased now. We still need to move forward with our Nuclear Plants in different stages of design/build (SC). We still need to move to move fuel efficient automobiles. We need to get corn & wheat out of the fuel equation and put it back on the table as food so the prices come back down (funny how supply & demand work). We still need to find viable alternatives to gas/oil but fact is it's too far away to make the entire country suffer and go broke waiting. Lowering the price of oil/gas is #1 issue. |

Yes are u kidding me its what is destroying this economy its GAS, it isnt his administration its the Democrats who dont want to drill.

1 Check again, it is the idiot bush not congress. I DO NOT want oil drilling off the shores of Florida. This state relies on tourist dollars and it is our beaches which bring in these tourist dollars. Besides, if they do lift the ban wanted by idiot bush, the US will not see results for another 8-10 years. Who is going to pay for any damage the oil drilling will do if there is a leak? Not the idiot bush. He will be long gone. |

Reality check. Two hurricanes through offshore oil fields, No LEAK! More oil leaks naturally from the ocean floor than from oil rigs. 8-10 years is a little exaggerated. The dumbocrats in congress are imprisoned by their far left kook constituency. |

Tourist dollars? Who's going on vacation when it cost too much to get there. Cost too much just to drive to work every week. $60-$100 to fill up your tank is not sustainable without producing inflation and recessionary trends. Did Hurricane Katrina cause any oil rigs to leak when it had direct hits?....NO. Do some research into oil spills (when, where, why, which vessel) and get back to me. You'll be very surprised at how far the technology and better practices have become to safeguard the environment. The 8-10 year argument is for fools on so many fronts. Not only will we be using automobiles for another 50-100 years, a lot of the oil identified off our coast already has rigs above it. See California for instance, those rigs are dormant because of the ban and can be brought back to life very quickly. Other locations are withing a year or 2 as long as the permits get approved in a timely fashion. Pipelines are another story but that's not what is needed on these. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are lying to you. Research it for yourself. |
