Dissident: Cubans Detained for Bracelets

its the beginning of the end. how about some bracelets that say"communism sux". NOW is the time to go to cuba en masse. lift travel restrictions. and if we are "detained" we then have the weight of the u.s. behind us. right now through third contry transit we are violating u.s. law and they would be hard pressed to help. however if travel restrictions were lifted then i do not think the cuban government would be able to detain u.s. citizens for just speaking thier mind in public. the regime would crumble under the weight of truth and freedom.i'm certain of this.it is only for this reason that i hope the next president has the forsight to take these measures. i would just love for some policeman to overhear me say fidel castro is a piece of sh1t and so is his brother and anyone that follws him. i wouldn't be making a scene, just having a free conversation just loud enough to make sure the cop hears me.and do in front of the cuban people.this will show them that there is nothing to fear for speaking your mind in a free society.

Cuba is a Communist Country with no USA Conculate, only the Emmbassy of Switzerland in Havana, USA has an office for Cuban Affairs. Before the Van to travel to Cuba on 2004. Any American Citizen or Cuban resident in USA was able to travel to Cuba freely, but the USA DEP.Treasure will advise any travelers to Cuba that they will travel on their own risk, since USA and Cuba do not have relations of any kind becouse of the Embargo. Only if the Embargo is lifted we... USA Citizens will be protedted by any USA consulate in Cuba and the Dept. of Treausure in USA.

Yes you are right. I was traying to explain the Guarantee we never had visiting Cuba. Only lifting the Embargo and having USA_Cuba normal relations, can we go there and raise our voices against Castro, maybe.

Well said!I can't understand why others CubanAmericabs can see,that lifting the travel restriction could be the beginning of the end of the dictatorship,for me it is very clear that it will be an important step to reach our freedom!

Perez Roque speeach of two days ago sais::: Cuba is ready to give his SOVEREIGHTY TO VENEZUELA!!!!!!!Meantime in Wash. DC the new Negociator in the Cuban Interest Section has arrived, The one that ussualy negociates Cuba -USA emmigration agreements. What is cooking?????

I believe it will also be a good idea if Cubans like Andy Garcia,Emilio Estefan etc,start wearing them,it could start a chain among other important people too!

That will be the ideal escenario,but we must take risks too!We cant seat and wait than others solve our problem for us!

this is what i have been saying for over a year. chavez and castro are making deals.if we don't act soon cuba will be a protectorate of venezuela just like p.r. and the usa. i said on this blog that some venezuelan higher ups were hunting up in the hill country at my ex-wifes ranch and they are the ones that told me this.people on this blog said i had no proof. well now you have it. a treaty signed by two sovereign nation(cuba and venezuela) will stand in any world court. what kind of conversations do you think those two asholes have.do you think that they talf about the weather. NO they are making plans.

Estoy que no lo puedo cree!!! The Castros are the most evel I ever seen. I think they might be giving an Ultimatum to USA, or lift the Embargo or Chavez will take over....

Las declaraciones del canciller Felipe Pérez Roque en Nueva York sobre la disposición de Cuba a ''renunciar a su soberanía y la bandera'' para integrarse en un gran bloque latinoamericano, desataron ayer una oleada de reacciones en los medios de Miami, extendida también a la internet.
Las principales emisoras radiales y programas de televisión en español dedicaron espacio a comentar las afirmaciones hechas por Pérez Roque la víspera tras aprobarse la condena contra el embargo estadounidense en Naciones Unidas (ONU), mientras que en numerosas páginas digitales y blogs dedicados a asuntos cubanos el tema suscitó largas controversias entre los lectores.

''Para mí es una vergüenza'', afirmó la comentarista radial Ninoska Pérez Castellón, de Radio Mambí(710 AM).'El `jineterismo' se ha convertido en la filosofía oficial del régimen cubano, que primero vendieron la soberanía a la Unión Soviética y ahora están dispuestos a vendérsela a Hugo Chávez a cambio de petróleo''.
